Here are 2 signings that could help Chelsea win the Premier League including this world-class goal machine

2 more signings that could help Chelsea win the Premier League

Chelsea are in the midst of a messy summer transfer window that does not seem healthy for a Premier League title challenge.

New Blues manager Maurizio Sarri has brought Jorginho with him from Napoli but he has just three weeks to shape his squad before the transfer window closes.

It is expected that Sarri will have a bigger say in signings than Antonio Conte did. And the signing of Jorginho shows that the Italian has played an instrumental role and will continue having a say over transfers.

However, the Blues are still short of a couple of quality players from mounting a significant title challenge in the 2018/19 campaign. Here are two more signings Sarri must complete in the summer transfer window to give the Londoners a chance to win the Premier League title.

Daniele Rugani (Juventus)

According to reports, Chelsea are in advanced talks with Juventus for the transfer of defender Daniele Rugani.

The Blues must ensure the likes of Gary Cahill and David Luiz are offloaded this summer. Cahill and Luiz had underwhelming campaigns and perhaps it is the right time for the Blues to cash in on them.

Sarri knows Rugani very well, as the pair worked wonders at Empoli, helping the Tuscans secure a return to the Italian top-flight a few years ago.

The Italian defender played his part in Juve’s 7th successive Scudetto but was only able to make 22 appearances. However, that shouldn’t question Rugani’s ability as he is such an intelligent and composed ball-playing defender.

Should the deal go over the line, Rugani could become the perfect player to partner Andreas Christensen at the heart of Chelsea’s defence. Both Rugani and Christensen are young and could form a rock-solid centre-back partnership at the Stamford Bridge.

Gonzalo Higuain (Juventus)

As per reports, Chelsea have made initial contact with Juventus with the hope of signing Gonzalo Higuain.

Gonzalo Higuain

Higuain’s best season of his career, which included 38 goals in all competitions, came under Sarri at Napoli in the 2015/16 season. The Argentina international is widely considered as one of the best strikers in world football and would be a massive signing for the Blues.

The likes of Alvaro Morata, Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi are good strikers but not at Higuain’s level. Higuain is an out-and-out poacher and while he isn’t the quickest of strikers, he is a deadly finisher and is capable of producing moments of genius on the pitch.
