Three Feasible Destinations For Ross Barkley This Summer

Everton have been a busy club after the end of the previous season as they have already completed a couple of signings in Davy Klaassen and Jordan Pickford. But it looks like Ronald Koeman is in no mood to slow down. The likes of Moussa Dembele and Sandro Ramirez have been constantly linked with a move to Goodison Park and this might spell the end of a few players at the club.

With Romelu Lukaku leaving anyway, Everton might not want to lose any of their first team stars but English midfielder Ross Barkley, who has decided not to sign a new contract. It is understood that the 23-year old is holding out for a better wage and is wanted by a few clubs already. But Everton are reportedly asking for a £50m bid to let him go, thus delaying his exit.

But if Everton lower their asking price, they are sure to find a couple of suitors and here are three clubs that could be ready to gamble on Barkley.

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs have been monitoring the Everton star for quite a while now but are not ready to meet his £50m valuation. Reports suggest that Barkley is high up their wish-list but that they are ready to wait for Everton to reduce the price when they have no other option. Tottenham need an attacking midfielder who can walk into the first team and have an impact and Barkley fits the bill perfectly. He could be just the man that can help Spurs take the next step.

Arsenal

Though not a direct replacement for Alexis Sanchez, Barkley can take the Chilean’s place in the first team at the Emirates next season. He at least has the potential to do so. At just 23, he is going to get better with every game and Arsenal have already been linked with a move for him this summer. He is a tad expensive but if he can be put to right use, Barkley can be devastating and could be an able addition to Arsenal’s already impressive attack.

West Ham United

Another club targeting Barkley is West Ham, who lack a genuine playmaker in their squad. After the exit of Dimitri Payet, West Ham have had to use Manuel Lanzini as a number 10 for most of the games. Though the Argentine was decent, the Hammers need a more creative force in attack to improve on their goal scoring numbers and Barkley could be the solution. At £50m he might not be an option for West Ham but if Everton lower their asking price late in the transfer window, there is no reason why Slaven Bilic should not look to sign him up for his first team this summer.
