Here’s how Unai Emery can end Arsenal’s struggles and bring them back to life

Emery can solve Arsenal’s struggles instantly and here’s how

It was a devastating night for Arsenal as they suffered a huge defeat against Manchester City.  With that loss, Manchester United was able to leapfrog Arsenal and secure fifth place. And the situation has incurred some big questions regarding the Gunners’ top-4 hopes.

Unai Emery’s men were apathetic throughout the game. After Manchester city opened the account quickly, Laurent Koscielny managed to put his side on level terms. Arsenal managed to hold back the reigning champions as much as they could before Sergio Aguero established the lead at the end of the first half. Later, Aguero scored the hattrick in the 61st minute, leading his team to victory.

The bad thing was Arsenal’s performance in the second half. The inclination to find the equaliser was completely absent. Despite some serious efforts from Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi, the rest of the players were futile and so was manager Unai Emery.

Arsenal

The Spaniard who has earned the name for his animated mannerism across the touchline couldn’t save his side. And his gamble to bring on newcomer Denis Suarez didn’t pay off either.

Arsenal’s season has been a fluctuating one despite a promising start. Their position right now is a far cry from what they were at the beginning. With many challenges awaiting the gunners, they need to rectify the recurring blunders.

In particular, the morale has to be provided by the manager regardless of the results. The ability to handle the pressure during big matches has to be increased. For instance, Pierre-Emerick Aubmeyang and Alexandre Lacazette, who were phenomenal in the early phases, couldn’t be productive against Manchester City.

They have to be at their creative best when their team needs the most. Keeping in mind the upcoming games, the players have to overcome their recent failures and should treat each game as a substantial one.

Mesut Ozil

Unai Emery quickly needs to arrest the negativity that is slowly beginning to take shape as he has not pleased the fans by benching favourites like Mesut Ozil. The tactics have been flawed at times and some of Arsenal’s mediocre players aren’t helping the cause either.

Of course, Emery needs a few transfer windows to build his own team but it is also a matter of whether the club’s board is willing to spend. All in all, it all looks quite bad for the Gunners and Emery needs to be shrewd enough and sort things out quickly by utilising his best creative player in the squad – Mesut Ozil.
