Hernandez Struggles – The Best And The Worst Rated Leeds United Players vs QPR

Leeds v Burton Albion

Leeds United were held to a goalless draw by Ian Holloway’s Queens Park Rangers at the Elland Road on Saturday, in the EFL Championship.

It was a frustrating day for Gary Monk’s men as they had to withstand the pressure from the visitors and never really got going in attack. The fact that Leeds did not get a shot on goal throughout the 90 minutes speaks volumes of the struggle they went through on Saturday. Overran in the midfield, isolated at the top, it was an extremely disappointing performance from Leeds.

The result did not affect their position in the league table as such, with Reading and Sheffield Wednesday losing their games away to Preston and Aston Villa respectively. However, Fulham’s win at Newcastle squeezes the gap between the fourth and the seventh position and Leeds could be under some pressure.

Leeds United Player Ratings

Rob Green – 7/10

Brought up his 600th appearance on Saturday and displayed the experience he has gained over the years. Made one crucial save from Conor Washington early in the game.

Luke Ayling – 6/10

Came into the line-up after missing the midweek game. His effort going forward was tremendous. But, picked up his 10th yellow card, meaning he will be suspended for the upcoming two games.

Kyle Bartley – 6/10

Not one his best days in the Leeds defence. Lost track of Washington and would have been pretty much grateful to Green after the game for bailing him out.

Pontus Jansson – 7.5/10

Another majestic showing at the back by Jansson. Made an array of clearances. His positioning and reading of situations was top-notch.

Gaetano Berardi – 6.5/10

Was put under some pressure, with his team struggling to get on to the front-foot. Did well to come out unscathed after half-time when the Hoops really went for it.

Liam Bridcutt – 5/10

Not the captain’s night. His passing was off from the get-go. Never really imposed himself on the game.

Ronaldo Viera – 6/10

The 18-year old fought tooth and nail in the middle of the park in what was a high tempo match. Tackled well and tried to close his opponents down.

Kemar Roofe – 5/10

After having impressed playing centrally against Fulham on Tuesday night, Roofe went missing out on the flanks. Was isolated for long spells and did not contribute much before being taken off by Monk.

Pablo Hernandez – 4/10

The Spaniard came back into the LeedsXI, but things went awfully wrong for him on the day. His touches let him down, gave away the ball too often and his passing wasn’t up to the mark either.

Alfonso Pedraza Sag – 6/10

Had a few chances to go at the QPR defence on the break. He managed to keep them busy, but he was not the same threat as he was in the past few weeks.

Chris Wood – 5/10

Returned to the Leeds line-up post an injury precaution, but the fact that Leeds did not have a shot on target sums up his outing. However, there wasn’t a lack of effort from their star man, and it just wasn’t to be for him on the day.

Substitutes

Hadi Sacko – 5/10

Came on to replace Roofe around the hour mark but was ineffective.

Souleymane Doukara – 5/10

Replaced Pedraza in the 73rd minute. Apart from an incredible pass to release Sacko, did nothing noteworthy.

Eunan O’Kane – 5/10

Came on in the 79th minute for Viera. Added solidity to the Leeds midfield.
