Predicted Manchester United Line-up To Face Watford In The Premier League
Manchester United needed a deflected shot from Ashley Young to pick three crucial points from their game against West Brom at the weekend. They are back in action just days later, as they travel to the Vicarage Road to face a high-flying Watford side.
Marco Silva’s Hornets beat West Ham United and Newcastle United in the last two games of the competition and will surely make it tough for the Red Devils to take anything from this game.
Team News
Defenders Phil Jones and Eric Bailly remain injured alongside veteran Michael Carrick. They remain the only absentees for this game.
Here’s how Man Utd might line up against Watford:
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manager: Jose Mourinho
GK – David de Gea
The Spaniard remains Mourinho’s preferred choice in goal and will start this tie under the bar yet again.
RB – Antonio Valencia
The veteran full-back has been consistent this season for his side and should keep his place at right-back.

CB – Victor Lindelof
With Bailly and Jones both out injured, Mourinho has little choice but to start Lindelof, who had a decent outing at the weekend.
CB – Chris Smalling
Smalling has not been impressive in the last few outings but with very few options in the side, he is expected to partner Lindelof at the back for the second game running.
LB – Ashley Young
The likes of Blind and Rojo has not impressed Mourinho enough, who is expected to stick with Young at left-back.
CM – Nemanja Matic
The Serbian midfielder had a comfortable outing against Brighton and should be fresh enough to start his second game in four days.

CM – Ander Herrera
To add some mettle to a lethargic Manchester United midfield should be Herrera, who has not been preferred in the first-team this season by Mourinho.
RW – Juan Mata
Though Rashford was effective on this wing at the weekend, he should not be overworked and should be replaced by Mata for this game.
CAM – Paul Pogba
The French midfielder will be used in a more attacking role through the middle, with both Herrera and Matic expected to cover for him at the back.

LW – Anthony Martial
Though not as productive in the last few games, Martial remains an important clog in United’s attack and is expected to keep his place on the left flank.
ST – Romelu Lukaku
The Belgian drew blanks at the weekend and will not find it any easier against the likes of Kabasele and Britos on Tuesday.
