Dream AC Milan Lineup to play next season featuring Arsenal star Jack Wilshere in midfield next season

AC Milan are apparently planning a move for Arsenal midfield Jack Wilshere this summer, as per reports from English media this week. Following a midweek defeat to Arsenal last week, the Serie A giants have been hugely impressed by the performance of Jack Wilshere, whose contract at the club is set to expire at the end of this season.

Wilshere, who has so far remained inclined to remain at Arsenal next season, has been told to take a 25% pay cut in his new contract, which resulted in disagreement between the club and the player. Therefore, a move to Milan might be a possibility considering the fact that the midfielder is available for a pre-contract agreement, having entered the last six months of his current contract.

AC Milan, on the other hand, will also be looking to secure the services of many other talented players in the summer, as they look to get back among the European elites next season.

In this article, we will draw up our dream AC Milan lineup for next season, featuring Jack Wilshere and a couple of other highly linked targets.

Formation: 4-3-3

Since taking charge, one of the most crucial things Gennaro Gattuso has done is to revert to a four-man backline, which has worked like a charm for the Italian so far this season. The 4-3-3 shape enables Milan to execute a free-flowing offensive setup, ultimately giving the likes of Suso and Calhanoglu more freedom in the final third.

Coach: Gennaro Gattuso

Gianluigi Donnarumma (GK)

Even though the Italian superstar has been hugely linked with a move to a bigger club this summer, AC Milan will definitely try their best to keep hold of their prized goalkeeping asset. The presence of Donnarumma between the sticks could be a massive boost for the Rossoneri.

Andrea Conti (RB)

At the start of this season, Andrea Conti seemed like one of the smartest buys of the summer but unfortunately for AC Milan, the Italian has suffered from injury for almost the entirety of this season. But that being said, Conti is expected to be fully fit for next season.

Leonardo Bonucci

Leonardo Bonucci (RCB)

Following a disastrous debut season at Milan, Leonardo Bonucci’s future at the club has been a subject of some serious speculation. But as it seems, the former Juventus defender is all set to lead the Milan backline next season.

Alessio Romagnoli (LCB)

Alessio Romagnoli has somehow managed to eclipse new signing Matteo Musacchio this season. The former Roma defender has been an ever-present figure for the Rossoneri this season and that won’t change next season either.

Ricardo Rodriguez (LB)

Ricardo Rodriguez should be the number one fullback for the Italian giants next season. It will be interesting to see how the Swiss international performs in the upcoming FIFA World Cup this summer.

Franck Kessie (CDM)

Even though Lucas Biglia makes a strong case for being included in the starting lineup, I can’t help but acknowledge the impact Franck Kessie has had at Milan this season. Initially on loan from Atalanta, Milan have an obligation to make his signing a permanent one at the end of the 2018/19 season and he is all set to don the famous Black and Red kit for next season as well.

Jack Wilshere

Ander Herrera (RCM)

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera is destined for a move out of Old Trafford this summer and AC Milan has been making strong vibes of signing the talented Spaniard next season. His addition could definitely revitalise Milan’s midfield.

Jack Wilshere (LCM)

Jack Wilshere will appear alongside Franck Kessie and Ander Herrera in the midfield positions. The English international could be deployed in a slightly advanced position too. His ability to carry the ball and find key passes will be crucial as Milan embrace a more technical gameplay next season.

Suso (RW)

Suso has been one of the best attackers for AC Milan this season. The Spanish winger has netted 8 goals in all competitions this season, which has helped the Rossoneri maintain their status in the top half of the Serie A table.

Suso

Andre Silva (ST)

It might be time for Andre Silva to finally show up as a regular first teamer for AC Milan next season. The Portuguese youngster hasn’t had much impact in Serie A this campaign since signing from Porto last summer, largely due to the lack of game time.

Memphis Depay (LW)

Hakan Calhanoglu’s place in the starting XI could be in a spot of bother next season, as AC Milan have been hugely linked with a move for Lyon star Memphis Depay. The Dutchman who was once considered as the Cristiano Ronaldo replacement for Manchester United, has finally found his feet in the Ligue 1 this campaign and could be up for a big money move this summer.
