Predicted Liverpool Line-up To Face Manchester City In The Premier League
It has been two weeks since Liverpool handed Arsenal a footballing lesson at Anfield and the Reds are ready to get back to action when they travel to the Etihad Stadium this weekend. They will be high on confidence going into this game, thanks to the previous results and the form of their players during the international break.
The Reds face a Manchester City side who have picked up the same number of points as them. However, City have been anything but convincing so far this season. Guardiola needs to get his plans right if he is to stop a Liverpool team that is easily one of the best in England.
Team News
Talk of the summer, Philippe Coutinho is back in Liverpool and may even find himself in the squad for this game. However, he is not expected to start in a Reds attack that looks settled without him. Full-back Nathaniel Clyne is ruled out for a ‘significant period’ while Adam Lallana remains the only other absentee for this tie.
Manager: Jurgen Klopp
Formation: 4-3-3
GK – Simon Mignolet
Though Karius was used in the game against Arsenal, Mignolet remains the first choice and should keep his pace in the side.
RB – Trent Alexander-Arnold
With Clyne out for a long time, Arnold is expected to deputise ahead of Joe Gomez, who did no harm to his reputation in the game against the Gunners.

CB – Joel Matip
The beast of a centre-half from Cameroon, Matip is having a solid time in England but will be up against an exciting attack led by Aguero this weekend.
CB – Dejan Lovren
Though not a favourite of the fans, Lovren remains the first choice centre-back for Liverpool and will partner Matip at the back, for this game.
LB – Alberto Moreno
Newbie Andrew Robertson was brilliant in his first outing but in such a high-octane game, Klopp should stick with the Moreno at the back.
CDM – Jordan Henderson
The skipper of the side, Henderson was decent while on international duty and will be full of confidence going to the Etihad, which has been a happy hunting ground for the Reds.

CM – Georginio Wijnaldum
The Dutch international had a forgettable time with the national side but he put in a decent performance. He will look to improve himself this weekend.
CM – Emre Can
The German midfielder is no closer to signing a new contract but has been in impeccable form recently and should start this tie ahead of Coutinho, who should find a place on the bench.
RW – Mohamed Salah
The Egyptian star found the back of the net in the international break and will be raring to take on Manchester City for the first time as a Red.

LW – Sadio Mane
The Senegalese winger picked up a goal and an assist for Senegal, and is one fire at the moment. He will be the danger man to City, going into this game.
ST – Roberto Firmino
The Brazilian No.9 has started the season in the best possible manner, playing a role in more than 75% of Liverpool’s goals so far. He should keep his place in the side, leading the attacking unit.
