Predicted Newcastle United Line-up To Brighton & Hove Albion In The Premier League

Newcastle United will face off against fellow promoted side Brighton & Hove Albion, in the game-week 6 of the Premier League, at the Amex Stadium on Sunday.

The Magpies, after a slow start, have won their last three league encounters, with the latest win being a 2-1 triumph over Stoke City at home. This run of victories saw them move up to the4th place in the league table with 9 points from 4 games. Manager Rafael Benitez will be hoping that his team continue their streak this weekend.

Team News

Goalkeeper Karl Darlow is fit again, after recovering from an ankle injury, but left-back Paul Dummett still remains unavailable, along with Massadio Haidara. Striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is ruled out, as he serves out the last of his three-match suspension.

Here’s how the Magpies might take the field against Chris Hughton’s men on Sunday:

Manager: Rafael Benitez

Formation: 4-4-1-1

Rob Eliott (GK)

The shot-stopper has managed to keep two shut-outs in his last three league outings and would want to add another, against the Seagulls.

Javi Manquillo (RB)

The Spaniard has had a solid start to life at Newcastle and should continue at right-back for Saturday’s encounter.

Jamaal Lascelles (CB)

The captain has been on top form of late and is leading from the front, scoring two goals in the last two games and doing his defensive duties admirably. A definite starter.

Ciaran Clark (CB)

Alongside Lascelles, the former Aston Villa man has formed a solid partnership and should continue at the heart of the defence.

Chancel Mbemba (LB)

The young defender has been a revelation at left-back in the absence of Paul Dummett. Should start ahead of veteran full-back Jesus Gamez.

Matt Ritchie (RM)

The Scotland international has been the Magpies’ best player so far this season, as many expected. A tough prospect to deal with from the right-hand side, with his pace and power.

Mikel Merino (CM)

The loanee from Borussia Dortmund has performed impressively in the middle of the park during Jonjo Shelvey’s absence and is likely to keep the Englishman out of the line-up again.

Isaac Hayden (CM)

The former Arsenal man has been exceptional in the last three victories for the Tynesiders. A definite starter in the midfield.

Christian Atsu (LM)

The Ghanaian winger is a hard worker on the left flank and scored against Stoke City last weekend. Will keep his place in the playing XI.

Ayoze Perez (SS)

The Spanish forward is the creative hub of Newcastle with his movement and intelligence at the top. Will operate in behind the striker.

Joselu (ST)

The former Stoke City man missed a number of gilt-edged chances last weekend against his former club. Will be keen on addressing that should he start on Sunday at the Amex.
