West Ham Lineup fitting in Lucas Perez

West Ham enjoyed a superb transfer window that saw manager Manuel Pellegrini bring in a number of talented individuals to London Stadium. The Hammers endured an underwhelming campaign last time out but they must aim to make a strong start this season.

The club looked confident, cohesive and fluid in pre-season. West Ham have signed out-of-favour Arsenal attacker Lucas Perez for £4m, as per BBC.

Pellegrini has put together an elite set of players who are capable of taking the Premier League by storm.

The Hammers’ offensive department looks well-stocked after the arrival of Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko and Jack Wilshere. The arrival of Lucas Perez will ensure they possess a wide variety of options up front.

Here, we take a look at the best West Ham line-up Pellegrini can field this season with Lucas Perez in the team.

West Ham XI with Perez in the team

Manager: Manuel Pellegrini

Formation: 4-3-3

Lukasz Fabianski (GK)

The former Swansea City goalkeeper was one of their brightest performers in an otherwise dismal campaign which saw the Welsh club get relegated. Fabianski must be selected in goal over Adrian.

Ryan Fredericks (RB)

The full-back showed what he is capable of in pre-season with his attacking instincts and his defensive diligence.

Issa Diop (CB)

One of the high profile signings this summer, Diop should be given the centre-back role alongside Ogbonna.

Angelo Ogbonna (CB)

The Italian has slowly and gradually nailed down his spot at the club. Alongside Fonte, Ogbonna could create a formidable partnership that will strike fear into the attackers.

Aaron Cresswell (LB)

Cresswell’s deliveries into the box were vital for the Hammers last season as the defender racked up 1 goal and 7 assists last season. He could hit higher numbers this season in a more attacking role under the Chilean.

Jack Wilshere (CM)

The former Arsenal man will surely pull the strings in the midfield. He is an orchestrator and his creativity will prose a huge threat for opposition defenders. Wilshere is capable of playing defence-splitting passes.

Mark Noble (CM)

Noble has been one of the Hammers’ loyal servants over the years. Given his ripe age, this could be his last season in terms of regular football. But he certainly possesses the wisdom and experience to play a key role in this budding squad of talented youngsters.

Felipe Anderson (CAM)

The Brazilian’s move was a highly anticipated one and for a good reason. He is a tireless runner and uses his pace to devastate defenders. The midfielder is also a regular on the scoresheet and is a true provider.

Lucas Perez (LW)

Arsenal’s hitman has failed to make a mark at the Emirates. A move to the London Stadium would see him occupy the left-wing role.

Marko Arnautovic (ST)

A fiery striker, Arnautovic was in scintillating form during the pre-season. Expect the Austrian to show up all guns blazing against Liverpool on the opening day.

Andriy Yarmolenko (RW)

Yarmolenko looked confident in pre-season and seamlessly transitioned himself into the role. He was a huge threat down the right flank with his constant dribbling and deliveries into the box.
