Predicted Tottenham Line-up To Face Everton In The Premier League
Mauricio Pochettino will be far from happy with the start his side have made to the league campaign, dropping points in the last two games before the international break. Spurs have now picked up just four points from their opening three league games and will need to start collecting points quickly if they are to compete for the title yet again.
However, it will not get any easier as they travel to the Goodison Park to face an Everton side that has been decent this season. Ronald Koeman has a number of new faces to juggle with and can easily upset Spurs this weekend. The Argentine manager will go with his strongest XI for this game.
Team News
Newbies Fernando Llorente and Serge Aurier are both available for selection. Eric Lamela and Danny Rose are still out injured. Victor Wanyama, who missed the previous game with an injury is expected to be back alongside Kieran Trippier, who was back in training during the international break.
Manager: Mauricio Pochettino
Formation: 4-2-3-1
GK – Hugo Lloris
The Frenchman is the undisputed No.1 for Spurs and should keep his place in the side.
RB –Kieran Trippier
Though he missed England duty due to lack of match fitness, Trippier has had enough training sessions to be ready to start for Pochettino, against Everton.
CB – Toby Alderweireld
The Belgian is unsettled at the club but is expected to start this tie, up against the likes of Ramirez and Rooney, away from home.
CB – Jan Vertonghen
Toby’s international compatriot, Vertonghen had a less than impressive time with the national side and will hope to put it behind with a strong performance in this game.
LB – Ben Davies
With Danny Rose still not 100% fit, Pochettino should stick with Davies on the left flank.
CM – Eric Dier
Though Wanyama is expected to be fit for this tie, Spurs should use Eric Dier as a part of the midfield to add some mettle and creativity from deep.
CM – Mousa Dembele
The Belgian has started the season in fine fashion and will hope to see his side to their second victory of the season in what is their 4th league game of the campaign.
RW – Christian Eriksen
The Danish playmaker was effective on international duty and Pochettino will hope for a similar performance from him this weekend.
CAM – Dele Alli
The English midfielder is the most important player for Spurs and needs to be kept quiet if Everton are to take anything from this game.
RW – Heung-Min Son
Even after all the summer transfers that Spurs made late in the window, Son is expected to keep his place on the wing for this trip to the Merseyside.
ST – Harry Kane
After a productive stint with the national side, Kane will relish this opportunity to continue his form for the London club this weekend.
