Premier League Team Of Gameweek 26

Game week 26 was as fascinating as the Premier League is in general and there was no shortage of drama. There were some unbelievable performances, some brilliant individual performances too and it is always difficult to pick 11 best players from a particular game week.

Nevertheless, here’s who makes it to our PL Team of the week.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

GK: Karl Darlow

Darlow was on top of his game, which eventually helped Newcastle salvage a draw against a dominant Crystal Palace side. He kept out 7 shots, especially the one of Benteke. Darlow always looked confident in coming off his lines to keep out a shot or collect the ball.

RB: Antonio Valencia

Valencia was as sound as ever. The Manchester United right-back was disciplined, sharp and was a vital force going forward. His delivery was superb too.

CB: Ben Mee

If one has to keep Manchester City’s attack out, they need to be gritty and professional. Mee made a couple of match-saving blocks, organised his defence, kept Sterling away from the goal once and was a threat during set-pieces.

CB: Laurent Koscielny

Koscielny was rock solid, kept Niasse and former teammate Walcott quiet. He got his goal too, which illustrates how dangerous he can be in the opposition box.

LB: Danilo

Danilo has always been a compatible defender. He often does his job and allows no fuss around his area. He defended excellently well again, was in position throughout and scored a beauty to give City the lead.

CM: Aaron Ramsey

No words to describe this man’s performance. His first hat-trick was smartly done. He made two clever runs into the box and scored a long ranger as well. Ramsey was everywhere against Everton. Apart from the heroics in the opposition box, Ramsey never looked out of position, had his task cut out and offered some defensive boost too.

CM: Mario Lemina

Very enterprising in the midfield, Lemina broke the play quite often and got forward with a statement. He always looked to be on the front foot, provided the diagonals and passed around well. His goal was breathtaking and would surely go down as one for the season’s best.

LW: Gerard Deulofeu

Deulofeu ran riot and was a nightmare to the Chelsea defence. He continuously tested the Blues, exploited the gaps, mistakes and tactical errors made by Conte’s men. He won the penalty that gave them the lead and took it all on his own to score a gorgeous counter-attacking goal. His dribbling, positivity and crossing were all top notch. Welcome back to the Premier League, Gerard Deulofeu!

Mohamed Salah

CAM: Henrikh Mkhitaryan

No Sanchez? No problem. Mkhitaryan proved all his worth. He pioneered the attack, always looked to exchange passes with Iwobi and Özil, provided a hat-trick of assists and dismantled the Toffees defence. The Armenian was full of intent and put up a complete performance, certainly the most polished one in this week’s PL action.

RW: Mohamed Salah

A 20-goal league season for the Egyptian as he set the tone against Spurs. While Liverpool didn’t see enough of the ball in the second half, they relied on Salah to get the goals. He finished it beautifully in the second minute of the game and scored a Messi-like goal late on to give Liverpool the lead. Yes, Messi-like, enough said.

ST: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Aubameyang got his first of no one knows how many. He provided so much mobility, pace and was the focal point for the Gunners. His finish was as good as any other, a smart dink to the right bottom corner to leave Pickford stunned.
