Predicted Rangers line-up to face Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership

Rangers will be looking to bounce back from their 4-3 loss to Spartak Moscow in the Europa League when they host Motherwell at Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard now faces the huge task of rebuilding his team’s confidence ahead of Sunday’s crunch fixture. Rangers will have to regroup and keep their good run of form in the Scottish Premiership.

Kilmarnock, meanwhile, travel to Ibrox on the back of two morale-boosting wins over St. Mirren and Dundee.

Team News

Daniel Candeias is suspended for the Motherwell clash at Ibrox. Graham Dorrans and Jamie Murphy remain long-term absentees, and Kyle Lafferty is also likely to miss Sunday’s game.

Ryan Kent is struggling with a hamstring issue and Borna Barisic won’t return until after the international break.

Probable Rangers XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Steven Gerrard

Allan McGregor (GK)

McGregor remains Rangers’ undisputed No.1 in goal and should start against Motherwell on Sunday.

James Tavernier

James Tavernier (RB)

Being the skipper of the side, Tavernier will have a big part to play on Sunday.

Connor Goldson (CB)

Goldson endured a torrid time against Spartak Moscow in the Europa League. He would be desperate to redeem himself against Motherwell.

Joe Worrall (CB)

Worrall brings physicality and power to Rangers’ defence. He would be looking to continue his good run of form.

Andy Halliday (LB)

For the left-back spot, Halliday could be given a nod ahead of Jon Flanagan on Sunday.

Ryan Jack

Ryan Jack (CDM)

Jack needs to get back his form as quickly as possible to help Rangers start firing on all cylinders.

Scott Arfield (RCM)

Arfield is adept at creating chances as well as breaking the opposition’s play. He is a certain starter for the game.

Lassana Coulibaly (LCM)

Coulibaly adds a lot of pace and power to Rangers’ engine room. However, he has been poor in the last few games and needs to start delivering the goods again.

Glenn Middleton (LW)

Kent’s injury could give Middleton a chance to impress from the onset. Middleton is a nippy attacker who will look to stretch the Motherwell rearguard on Sunday.

Eros Grezda (RW)

Candeias’ untimely red card opens the door for Grezda, who has struggled with injuries since joining the club in the summer. Grezda could start on the right of the front three and the Albanian needs to make the most of the chance presented to him by the manager.
