[Image] Liverpool XI for 2018/19 season with this £193.75m trio in the team looks extremely strong

Liverpool will be aiming to challenge for the title next season as Jurgen Klopp looks to ramp up his summer transfer activity with a concerted effort to land some of his targets.

The Reds broke the bank to sign Virgil van Dijk in January and the Dutchman has slotted very well in the team, strengthening the fragile defence. But if Klopp desires to mount a significant title challenge next term, he needs to spend big in summer.

Apart from Naby Keita joining them in the summer, this is how Liverpool could line up after completing two more key summer deals.

Probable Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Alisson Becker (GK)

While Loris Karius has done extremely well since becoming Liverpool’s No.1 in goal, it would be a shame to see the German become the second choice in the summer should the Reds complete a deal for Roma’s £87m-rated Alisson Becker.

With fantastic reflexes and shot-stopping abilities, Alisson has established himself as one of the most in-demand goalkeepers in Europe, with the Reds reportedly interested in securing his services this summer.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

One of Liverpool’s success stories this season, the young Trent Alexander-Arnold has quietly proved his worth at right-back, which has earned him a ticket to the World Cup. Despite his inexperience, the 19-year-old has been one of the most solid performers in the Liverpool defence.

Joe Gomez (CB)

After playing at right-back this entire season, could we see Joe Gomez at centre-back next campaign? Given Dejan Lovren’s error-strewn displays and Joel Matip’s long-term injury, there is a big chance to see Gomez in central defence.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

Strong in the air and comfortable in possession, Van Dijk has indeed strengthened the Liverpool defence. His commanding displays at the back means the Reds have finally found a leader in defence.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

After a slow start to life at Anfield, Robertson has been fantastic at left-back, proving to be an upgrade on Alberto Moreno. He has shown plenty of energy while contributing to attacks and with equal diligence, he has performed his defensive duties. The Scot will surely keep his place in the starting line-up next season.

Jorginho

Jorginho (CDM)

With Jordan Henderson enduring a mixed bag, the Reds desperately need a strong holding midfielder. Napoli’s £53m-rated Jorginho is a fantastic midfielder and would fit the bill perfectly at Anfield. He would also be an upgrade to Henderson.

Naby Keita (RCM)

Keita is finally set to arrive at Liverpool in the summer and would walk straight into the starting line-up. A hard-tackling midfielder, the £52.75m Guinean would offer a lot of dynamism.

Georginio Wijnaldum (LCM)

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to spend a long time on the sidelines due to knee ligament damage and Emre Can is supposedly moving to Juventus. This could see Wijnaldum enjoy his time in the starting line-up. The Dutchman went missing in the second half of the season but could get a lot of chances next term to show his real worth.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

Salah was a revelation for the Reds in the recently concluded season. The Egyptian has fired on all cylinders and will be hoping to help Liverpool win the Champions League after more than a decade.

Sadio Mane (LW)

Since Coutinho left for Barcelona in January, Mane has stepped up and is now back to his lethal attacking best. With his pace and movement, the Senegalese terrorises the opposition defences. He is certain to keep his place in the team.

Roberto Firmino (ST)

Firmino’s link-up play with Mane and Salah has been a treat to watch. The Brazilian has finally started looking like a proper centre-forward and is a huge asset for Klopp.
