Predicted Bournemouth line-up to face Man City in the Premier League

Bournemouth face a trip to the Etihad Stadium to take on defending Premier League champions Manchester City on Saturday.

The Cherries, after a strong to the season, have lost their way of late. They have lost their last three Premier League games, with the latest defeat coming at home to Arsenal.

Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth will be desperate to get back to winning ways but they’ll have to pull a rabbit out of the hat to get three points against an unbeaten Manchester City side.

Team News

Adam Smith has been ruled out for up to three months with a knee injury, while Jefferson Lerma will serve a one-match ban.

Probable Bournemouth XI

Formation: 3-4-1-2

Manager: Eddie Howe

Asmir Begovic (GK)

Begovic is Howe’s No.1 in goal and that won’t change when the Cherries face Manchester City.

Simon Francis (RCB)

Francis could find himself stationed in a back three on Saturday. He’ll have his task cut out at City.

Steve Cook (CB)

Cook has been solid at the back this season and that makes him an undoubted starter at the weekend.

Nathan Ake

Nathan Ake (LCB)

Ake is an aggressive defender who is strong in the air and also comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Ryan Fraser (RWB)

Fraser has played at wing-back before and could start on the right. He has been in very good form this season and Howe will expect him to deliver the goods at the weekend.

Charlie Daniels (LWB)

Daniels could come up against the skilful Mahrez on Saturday. He’ll have to be at his best to stop the Algerian on Saturday.

Lewis Cook (CM)

With Lerma suspended, Cook will have to shoulder more defensive responsibility and stay strong to nullify City’s attacks.

Dan Gosling (CM)

Gosling is an energetic midfielder who is adept at breaking attacks as well as offering creativity in the middle of the park.

David Brooks (CAM)

Brooks will be the link between the midfield and the attack. He’ll have to show his former employers why they made a mistake by letting him go a few years back.

Joshua King

Joshua King (RS)

King will look to cause problems to City with his pace and movement off the ball. A certain starter for the weekend fixture.

Callum Wilson (LS)

Wilson has been Bournemouth’s chief source of goals this season. He will be hungry to get on the scoresheet against the league leaders on Saturday.
