Predicted Arsenal line-up to face Man United in the Premier League

Arsenal will aim to continue their fantastic league form when they face rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford this Wednesday night. Unai Emery’s men were fantastic in their 4-2 win over London rivals Tottenham, and are coming into this game on the back of a 12-game unbeaten run in the league.

They are up against a United side struggling for form at the moment. Jose Mourinho’s men were once again not at their best versus Southampton and lie way below the race for a top-four finish. However, this game is at Old Trafford and Arsenal do not have a great record there. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Gunners.

Team News

Granit Xhaka got a fifth yellow card against Spurs, so he will be suspended for Wednesday. Nacho Monreal is still out, while Mesut Ozil remains a concern. Laurent Koscielny is getting closer to full fitness.

Probable Arsenal XI

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Manager: Unai Emery

Bernd Leno (GK)

The German was a bit susceptible against Spurs. He has been good though and deserves to play ahead of Petr Cech.

Shkodran Mustafi (RCB)

He was one of the best defenders on the pitch on Sunday. Despite hobbling off late on, he should be fit to start against United.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos (CB)

The Greek has been a solid signing for the Gunners and has adapted to the league very well.

Rob Holding (LCB)

The youngster has shown great promise this season, epitomising the trust shown by Emery who has given him starts on a regular basis.

Hector Bellerin

Hector Bellerin (RWB)

The Spaniard looks a better player when operating as a wing-back. His runs into the opposition half are dangerous.

Lucas Torreira (CM)

The best defensive midfielder Arsenal have had in a long time. His work rate in central midfield is immense for the team.

Matteo Guendouzi (CM)

With Xhaka suspended for this game, we could see young Guendouzi starting in the midfield.

Sead Kolasinac (LWB)

Just like Bellerin, Kolasinac is more effective playing as a wing-back. He is a powerful runner with the ball and could cause problems to the United back line.

Alex Iwobi (RW)

The Nigerian has been in good form, however, his decision-making hasn’t been great in the recent past. He needs to improve on that.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (LW)

He has been terrific in front of the goal, netting goals for fun with high quality and precision. His pace and direct running will be lethal.

Alexandre Lacazette (ST)

The Frenchman came off the bench to score against Spurs. He should be back leading the line for the Gunners.
