Predicted Arsenal line-up to face Tottenham in the Premier League

Arsenal will be seeking to keep their unbeaten run going when they face arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium this Sunday in the season’s first North London derby. The Gunners got the better of Bournemouth last week, leaving them on the shoulder of the top four places in the league.

Meanwhile, Spurs demolished Chelsea last time around and will be confident of getting a result at the home of their enemy. Expect a tight affair with a derby flair in it. Emirates will sure be bouncing for that this weekend.

Team News

Nacho Monreal is still out action, while Alexandre Lacazette could feature this weekend. Laurent Koscielny is now starting to push for a place in the squad after a long injury layoff. Danny Welbeck is out for the season.

Probable Arsenal XI

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Manager: Unai Emery

Bernd Leno (GK)

The German has taken over from Petr Cech as the first-choice goalkeeper in the team. He is justifying that with his saves and calmness on the ball.

Bernd Leno

Hector Bellerin (RWB)

Bellerin has been great at right-back/wing-back this season. If Spurs play a diamond midfield, his runs in the wide areas could be key.

Rob Holding (LCB)

The youngster has been superb for the Gunners in central defence. No wonder he starts every game right now.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos (CB)

The Greek will be hoping to stifle Harry Kane in the central areas by being physically strong and not allowing the Englishman to shoot.

Shkodran Mustafi (RCB)

Despite his good performances, Mustafi can be a train-wreck at times. He needs to abandon the latter for this weekend.

Sead Kolasinac

Sead Kolasinac (LWB)

The three at the back system suits Kolasinac as he can make runs forward with a little bit more protection from the three centre-backs.

Lucas Torreira (CM)

The Uruguayan will be key in a midfield battle and that could decide the fate of this game.

Granit Xhaka (CM)

The Swiss needs to be proactive in a game where pressing will be done in the central areas of the pitch.

Alex Iwobi (LW)

The Nigerian has been superb this season, probably a player wanting to prove something to the new manager. He should start ahead of Henrikh Mkhitaryan if there is a shootout for a place between the two.

Mesut Ozil

Mesut Ozil (RW)

The German was left out of the game against Bournemouth, however, his technical qualities will come in handy against Tottenham.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (ST)

Lacazette is expected to be fit but Aubameyang could continue to lead the line, purely because the back-3 formation could work against Tottenham’s current tactics.
