Arsenal vs Burnley predictions: Arsenal line-up

Arsenal started their Premier League campaign with a win over Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.

The only goal of the game was scored by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and the Gunners, surprisingly, kept the Magpies from scoring a goal.

Arsenal had a poor defence away from home last season, but it was a welcome change seeing them keep a clean sheet.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Their next fixture is against a tough to beat Burnley team. The Clarets were impressive in their season opener with a 3-0 win over Southampton.

Unai Emery made some big signings in the summer, but most of his new faces didn’t start in the previous game.

That should change for the first game of the season at the Emirates.

Predicted Arsenal XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Unai Emery

Bernd Leno (GK)

The German should keep his place in the team and will face a more physical Burnley team at the weekend. Leno needs to be careful when dealing with corners and set-pieces as the Clarets will try to take advantage of these situations.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles (RB)

Hector Bellerin might take some more time to recover from his cruciate ligament damage, and Maitland-Niles should continue as the right-back after impressing in the win over the Magpies.

Sokratis (CB)

The Greek defender should keep his place in the heart of the defence and pair with our new signing David Luiz.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos

David Luiz (CB)

One of the surprise transfers of the summer, Luiz joined Arsenal in the final days of the window, and his distribution from the back should help the team launch quick attacks.

Nacho Monreal (LB)

It is to be seen if Sead Kolasinac is cleared to play for the Gunners, should the Bosnian miss ou, Arsenal will continue with Monreal.

Matteo Guendouzi (CM)

Lucas Torreira was on the bench against Newcastle but Arsenal should stick with Guendouzi for the Burnley clash.

Granit Xhaka (CM)

Xhaka should also keep his place in the team, but the Swiss star has to be careful with his tackles against Sean Dyche’s men. The midfielder picked up a booking on the opening day and has to avoid needless yellows.

Nicolas Pepe (RAM)

Arsenal’s big signing came off the bench in the win over Newcastle and could get a start at home. Pepe looked good in his cameo and it will be interesting to see how he does right from the start of a game.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (LAM)

Aubameyang led the line in the previous game and should be shifted to the left side of the attack once the Gunners field Pepe and Alexandre Lacazette.

Dani Ceballos (CAM)

Another summer signing that came off the bench against Newcastle. The Spaniard joined Arsenal on a season-long loan, and it will be interesting to see how he performs with the other attackers in the team.

The Frenchman should start for the Gunners on Saturday. Lacazette was on the bench against the Magpies but should feature in Arsenal’s new-look attack.
