Predicted Arsenal line-up to face Qarabag in the Europa League

Arsenal will be aiming to keep their unbeaten run going when they face Qarabag in the Europa League at the Emirates this Thursday. The Gunners are already through to the knockout round of this competition but momentum is key to Unai Emery’s men, who will be hoping to make it 22 games without a loss this midweek.

The Gunners scraped past Huddersfield during the weekend to keep them on course for a top-four race in the league. They are up against a Qarabag team who are second in the Azerbaijan league and have scored 11 goals in their previous two league games.

Team News

Sokratis is suspended for the weekend’s league game due to an accumulation of yellow cards and hence, he might play this game. Shkodran Mustafi has a slight niggle which may keep him out of Thursday’s game.

Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck are out for the season while Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey are fighting to regain fitness as soon as possible.

Sokratis (CB)

He is suspended for the weekend’s game against Southampton and we may see him start on Thursday.

Laurent Koscielny (CB)

The Frenchman was on the bench against Huddersfield as he nears full fitness. He might test that this midweek.

Nacho Monreal (LB)

He is now back from injury and played a few minutes against the Terriers. Expect him to start with Sead Kolasinac getting a rest.

Mohamed Elneny

The Egyptian plays cup games and this is another chance for him to show his quality to the manager.

Granit Xhaka (CM)

The Swiss might start, partly because he didn’t play last Wednesday’s game against Manchester United.

Alex Iwobi (LW)

The Nigerian needs to improve on his final product to make himself a complete player. He is expected to start this game.

Emile Smith Rowe (RW)

The youngster has impressed one and all whenever he has started games for the Gunners. He should get to play on Thursday and show his qualities.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (CAM)

He needs to start delivering for the team sooner rather than later. The Armenian must do well in this game and try to impress the manager.
