[Image] Predicted 4-2-3-1 Everton XI to face Newcastle – can Marco Silva pick up a much-needed win?

Everton vs Newcastle United predictions: Everton line-up

Marco Silva’s appointment at Everton was supposed to bring back attacking football along with a chance to fight alongside the Premier League’s big boys.

However, things haven’t worked out that way, with the Toffees sitting 10th in the league table, six points behind seventh-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Things could get worse with games against Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham and West Ham coming along in the next few weeks. That simply puts the pressure on the Newcastle United clash, making it must-win one.

However, the Magpies are in good form and excluding the loss last weekend, they’ve managed three wins out of their last six games, including one draw.

At the moment, they look safe from relegation but need to continue winning matches if they are to confirm their safety in the Premier League.

That’s something that Marco Silva should take full advantage of going forward and make sure that Everton win at least five of their final nine games to save his job.

Probable Everton XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Marco Silva

Jordan Pickford (GK)

A mainstay in the Everton team sheet since his arrival, Pickford was among the standout performers against Liverpool and should keep his place.

Seamus Coleman (RB)

The 30-year-old was pitted against both Andrew Robertson and Sadio Mane in the Merseyside Derby and showed his class with a few key tackles and interceptions.

Kurt Zouma (CB)

The on-loan Chelsea star struggled for form earlier in the season but has found his way back into the team and should keep his place.

Michael Keane (CB)

While he is among Everton’s best defenders, the former Burnley man has looked shaky at times and needs to improve quickly.

Lucas Digne (LB)

While he wasn’t perfect, the Frenchman did more than enough against Liverpool to show why the Toffees spent big on him in the summer.

Idrissa Gueye (CM)

With Everton chasing a top seven spot, the Toffees need their best players to be able to play every game and the Senegalese is one of their best.

Tom Davies (CM)

The Everton youth star has struggled to replicate last season’s form under Marco Silva and has thus been reduced to a bench role, missing the last two games.

Theo Walcott (RW)

While he is ageing, the former Arsenal forward still remains as lethal as he was under Arsene Wenger and showcased that against Liverpool.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (CAM)

Having found a rich vein of form over the last few weeks, the former Tottenham star has taken Richarlison’s post as the club’s top scorer.

Industrious and tenacious, the Brazilian has won over the Everton support after recent performances, including a great shift in the Merseyside derby.

Richarlison (ST)

A great goal-scorer, the former Watford man prefers playing on the left-hand side but has been used as a striker by Marco Silva this season.
