Predicted Fulham line-up to face Newcastle United in the Premier League

Fulham will aim to at least stop the losing run when they face Newcastle United at St.James’ Park this Saturday in an important Premier League game. The Cottagers are rock bottom in the table, three points behind the safety zone. Hence, any game for them , be it home or away is going to be tough.

The Londoners are up against a Newcastle side who have actually been in good form in the past month or so. The Magpies have won four of their previous seven league games, propelling themselves up to 14th place in the table. For Claudio Ranieri’s men, they need to get something out of this match.

Team News

Kevin McDonald had been injured but it will be touch and go for him whether he takes part on Saturday or not. Maxime le Marchand and Ryan Sessegnon are ruled out for this match.

Probable Fulham XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Claudio Ranieri

Sergio Rico (GK)

The Spaniard has made some saves but he hasn’t been helped by his defenders. He should keep his place.

Cyrus Christie

Cyrus Christie (RB)

Denis Odoi at right-back isn’t working. It would be better to switch to Christie for this position.

Denis Odoi (CB)

Odoi has been half-decent when playing in the centre-back position. He should start in this role.

Alfie Mawson (CB)

The summer signing needs to improve his performance as Fulham seek their first clean sheet of the season.

Joe Bryan (LB)

With Le Marchand still expected to be out, we may see Bryan continue to play at left-back.

Jean Michael Seri

Calum Chambers (CM)

The loanee from Arsenal has done a decent job in central midfield. He could keep his place there for this game.

Jean Michael Seri (CM)

The Ivorian has been mediocre at best this season after a high-profile arrival. Fulham fans would be hoping for better.

Tom Cairney (CAM)

The captain should cheer his team up on the field and link the midfield and the attack to create more goal-scoring chances.

Andre Schurrle (RW)

The German would be hoping to score a goal or two to lift his team’s morale in one way or the other.

Aleksandar Mitrovic

Luciano Vietto (LW)

Aboubakar Kamara was tried in the previous game and didn’t quite work. We could see Vietto back in action this weekend.

Aleksandar Mitrovic (ST)

The Serbian has got very little to bite into. His goal-scoring form has been good but Fulham players need to use him more in the final third.
