Predicted Man United line-up to face Young Boys in the Champions League

Manchester United welcome Swiss club Young Boys to Old Trafford on Tuesday as they look to seal qualification to the Champions League round of 16.

The Red Devils produced a lacklustre display in the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday and they once again dropped points in the Premier League. So, they’ll be desperate to bounce back with a victory over Young Boys on Tuesday.

A win against Young Boys coupled with a victory for Juventus over Valencia would seal United’s qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Team News

Victor Lindelof looks set to miss Tuesday’s game after pulling up his hamstring in the 0-0 draw with Palace.

Probable Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Jose Mourinho

David De Gea (GK)

Arguably the world’s best goalkeeper, De Gea is a certain starter against Young Boys.

Ashley Young (RB)

Young has to marshal his troops well on Tuesday as Manchester United look to get into the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Chris Smalling (CB)

Smalling has become a regular fixture lately for United in central defence. He is expected to continue in his role.

Eric Bailly (CB)

Lindelof’s injury opens the door for Eric Bailly to put in an impressive performance against Young Boys and regain his place in the team.

Luke Shaw (LB)

Shaw started very well this season but has faded a bit in the last few games. Needs to start performing at the top level once again.

Nemanja Matic (CM)

Matic has been subpar this season, yet continues to find the manager’s support.

Paul Pogba (CM)

Pogba was the difference when the two sides met earlier this season. He has to produce something similar to that performance to guide United to all three points.

Anthony Martial (LW)

Martial is United’s in-form player at the moment and Mourinho would expect the Frenchman to deliver the goods on Tuesday.

Juan Mata (CAM)

Mata had a disappointing game against Palace at the weekend. The diminutive Spaniard will look to put in an improved performance against the Swiss outfit.

Marcus Rashford (RW)

Rashford will look to stretch the visitors’ defence with his raw pace and directness. He could be decisive in unlocking the Young Boys’ defence on Tuesday.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

Lukaku is on a long goal drought and he’ll need service from his teammates to excel against Young Boys.
