Predicted Rangers line-up to face Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership

Rangers will host Hibernian at the Ibrox exactly a week after the two sides played out a goalless draw at Easter Road.

The Gers come into Wednesday’s game on the back of a late 2-1 victory over St. Johnstone that propelled them to the second spot in the Scottish Premiership table.

Hibernian, on the other hand, drew 1-1 at home to Livingston at the weekend and will come to Ibrox with a motive to cause upset.

Team News

Borna Barisic will miss out after limping off during Rangers’ win over St Johnstone on Sunday.

Scott Arfield could return to the squad after recovering from the knock but Ryan Jack could miss the Hibernian clash.

Meanwhile, Connor Goldson has picked up five yellow cards and will miss out on Wednesday’s game.

Probable Rangers XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Steven Gerrard

Allan McGregor (GK)

McGregor is a reliable presence in goal and should start against Hibernian.

James Tavernier (RB)

The skipper of the team, Tavernier is expected to keep his place at right-back.

Joe Worrall (CB)

Worrall had a poor game against St Johnstone and will look to redeem himself on Wednesday.

Nikola Katic (CB)

Katic’s early form has faded drastically but Wednesday could be a good chance for him to dish out a solid performance in the absence of Goldson.

Lee Wallace (LB)

Wallace filled in at left-back following Barisic’s injury at St Johnstone. Therefore, he could be given another chance to impress.

Andy Halliday (CM)

Halliday has done well this season and deserves to keep his place in the team.

Ross McCrorie (CM)

With Coulibaly out of form and Jack injured, McCrorie could once again partner Halliday in central midfield.

Eros Grezda (LW)

Grezda could again be handed a start on the left. With his blistering pace and unpredictability, the Albanian could cause a lot of problems for the Hibernian defence.

Scott Arfield (CAM)

For the No.10 role, there is no one better than Arfield in the Rangers squad. The Canadian will look to link up the play between the midfield and the attack to guide the Gers to all three points at home.

Daniel Candeias (RW)

Candeias is very likely to retain his place on the right flank. The Portuguese will look to get on the scoresheet against the Hibs.

Alfredo Morelos (ST)

Morelos is one of the first names on the team sheet. He will be aiming to score his 20th goal of the season on Wednesday.
