West Brom vs Reading prediction: West Brom line-up

West Brom welcome Reading at the Hawthorns in a Championship fixture on Wednesday as Slaven Bilic aims to grab all three points.

The Baggies made it seven points from their first three league games as they came from behind to beat Luton Town at Kenilworth Road at the weekend. They will be all raring to go and get their first home win of the campaign.

Reading, meanwhile, head into this contest off the back of a fantastic 3-0 victory over Reading on Sunday.

Team News

Ahmed Hegazi is not expected to return in action for the Baggies until late September after undergoing ankle surgery. Other than Hegazi, Bilic has no injury concerns ahead of the Reading game.

Probable West Brom XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Slaven Bilic

Sam Johnstone (GK)

Johnstone is West Brom’s undisputed no.1 and should start in goal against Reading.

Nathan Ferguson (RB)

Nathan Ferguson has started the Baggies’ first three games and is expected to continue at right-back.

Semi Ajayi (CB)

Ajayi has done well so far for his new club but he’ll have to be at the top of his game to keep Reading’s pacey attackers at bay.

Kyle Bartley (CB)

Bartley is an experienced defender who will be tasked to keep George Puscas quiet on Wednesday.

Kieran Gibbs (LB)

Completing West Brom’s back four will be Gibbs, who could come up against the pacey Mendez-Laing.

Jake Livermore (CM)

Livermore will look to dominate the proceedings of the game from the first blow of the whistle.

Romaine Sawyers (CM)

Partnering Livermore in central midfield will be Sawyers, who often likes to join the attackers and cause problems to the opposition defenders.

Matt Phillips (RW)

Phillips is a real threat down the threat when he’s on song. Bilic will hope the Scotsman delivers the goods on Wednesday.

Filip Krovinovic (CAM)

Krovinovic adds a lot of quality to West Brom’s attacking with his incisive passing and vision. He is an undoubted starter against Reading.

Grady Diangana (LW)

The Baggies’ hero of the last game, Diangana should start on the left flank ahead of Kyle Edwards. The West Ham loanee will be eager to get on the score sheet after scoring a brace at Luton Town.

Charlie Austin (ST)

Zohore has failed to find the back of the net in the first three games, so Bilic could hand Austin an opportunity to lead his team’s attack on Wednesday.
