Manchester United vs Chelsea predictions – Chelsea line-up

Chelsea would be aiming to get back to winning ways when they face Manchester United away at Old Trafford this Sunday. The Blues dropped two points against Burnley but the top-four hopes remain in their own hands after Arsenal and Man United lost this midweek.

The Blues now go away to Manchester for a potential six-pointer, where the winner will take a considerable step towards finishing in the top-four.

Team News

N’Golo Kante had a crack in his ribs while playing against Burnley. He should be fit to start on Sunday though. Antonio Rudiger is suffering from a knee injury. He is touch and go to be available for the coming game.

Marcos Alonso is suffering from a buttock injury and he would be out for this game. Callum Hudson-Odoi suffered a season-ending shin injury against Burnley.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Maurizio Sarri

Kepa (GK)

He is their first-choice keeper and should be in goal against United.

Cesar Azpilicueta (RB)

The Spaniard is the stand-in skipper in the team and probably one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Andreas Christensen (CB)

With Rudiger a doubt for this game, Christensen may start in central defence on Sunday.

David Luiz (CB)

The Brazilian is one of the first-choice centre-backs in the team and should start against United.

Emerson (LB)

With Alonso out, Emerson is almost certain to start at left-back. The former Roma has been doing well in the past few weeks.

Jorginho (CDM)

The Italian international is the main man for Sarri in defensive midfield. He is the first name on the teamsheet as long as the current manager stays at the helm.

N’Golo Kante (RCM)

The Frenchman cracked his ribs on Monday but as suggested above, he should be fit to start on Sunday.

Mateo Kovacic (LCM)

Loftus-Cheek’s performance level has downed a bit in the last few weeks. Hence, we could see Kovacic back in the XI for this game.

Pedro (RW)

With Hudson-Odoi injured, Pedro is almost certain to take the youngster’s place in the XI.

Gonzalo Higuain (ST)

The Argentine played well against Burnley and should lead the line on Sunday.

Eden Hazard (LW)

The mercurial Belgian has been in good form for most parts of this season. United defenders will certainly have palpitations thinking about how to stop him on Sunday.
