Predicted Manchester City XI to face Watford in the Premier League
Defending champions Manchester City will look to continue their surge in the domestic arena when they face Watford at the Vicarage Road on Tuesday. Pep Guardiola’s men were tested against Bournemouth but came out unscathed with a 3-1 win.
The Citizens are up against a Hornets team who lost their previous game, however, they are always a tough proposition when it comes to playing at home. Hence, it won’t be easy for City even though they thrashed the home side in the corresponding fixture last season.
Team News
Benjamin Mendy is out for long-term, while Kevin de Bruyne is out until mid-December. Sergio Aguero is a doubt for this game and Zinchenko broke his nose against the Cherries, hence, he will also be assessed before the game.
Probable Manchester City XI
Formation: 4-3-3
Manager: Pep Guardiola
Ederson (GK)
The Brazilian is a sure starter in this Man City side. He is a brilliant goalkeeper and is crucial to Pep’s team right now.
Kyle Walker (RB)
He was rested for the weekend game, hence, he should be back for this one.
John Stones (CB)
The Englishman was given a rest against the Cherries, expect him to play against the Hornets.
Aymeric Laporte (CB)
He has started every league game and deservedly so. The Frenchman is probably the best centre-back in the City squad at the moment.
Fabian Delph (LB)
With Mendy out and Zinchenko a doubt, we could see Delph in action at left-back.
Fernandinho (CDM)
The Brazilian is an important player in the team. He is irreplaceable.
David Silva (LCM)
The Spaniard was rested for the weekend’s game. Expect him to start on Tuesday.
Bernardo Silva (RCM)
The Portuguese is back fit and played against the Cherries. He could start ahead of Ilkay Gundogan.
Leroy Sane (LW)
The German is in great form at the moment. His contribution in the final third is immense to the team.
Gabriel Jesus (ST)
Aguero doubtful for this game, hence, Jesus should lead the line. He needs a goal or two to really challenge Aguero for a first-choice spot in the team.
Riyad Mahrez (RW)
Raheem Sterling has played a lot of games in the past few months. Hence, he deserves a rest for this game. As a result, we should see Mahrez in action. Not a bad backup to have!
