Predicted Rangers line-up to face Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership

Rangers will welcome Hamilton to the Ibrox on Sunday in the Scottish Premiership, looking to bounce back from the disappointing Europa League exit.

The Gers were beaten 1-0 at Rapid Wien in the Europa League on Thursday that saw them bow out of the competition. Now with the European dreams over, Steven Gerrard’s Rangers can solely focus on the league.

Hamilton, on the other hand, were beaten 1-0 by Hibernian last weekend and lie tenth in the table.

Team News

Ryan Kent missed the Rapid Wien game with a discomfort in his knee and is a doubt for the Hamilton clash on Sunday. Meanwhile, Jamie Murphy and Graham Dorrans are long-term absentees.

Probable Rangers XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Steven Gerrard

Allan McGregor (GK)

McGregor has been brilliant since rejoining Rangers this season. He should start between the sticks.

James Tavernier (RB)

Tavernier will look to lead the team from the front on Sunday. He is the skipper, so he should start for sure.

Connor Goldson

Connor Goldson (CB)

Goldson has arguably been the signing of the summer for Rangers. He will retain his place in the defence.

Gareth McAuley (CB)

Mcauley’s experience should come handy to keep the Hamilton side at bay on Sunday.

Andy Halliday (LB)

Halliday could be given the nod ahead of Barisic at left-back against Hamilton.

Ryan Jack (CDM)

Jack essays the role of a defensive midfielder to perfection. His presence on the pitch makes a lot of difference to Gerrard’s side.

Lassana Coulibaly (RCM)

Coulibaly would give the drive and thrust from the midfield. He should start on the right-hand side of the midfield trio.

Scott Arfield (LCM)

Arfield is a tireless worker who gives Rangers a different dimension in the midfield. He is a certain starter against Hamilton.

Eros Grezda (LW)

Grezda’s explosive pace and unpredictability could give the Hamilton backline a torrid time. He brings a different flavour to Rangers’ attack and must start.

Daniel Candeias (RW)

On the right, Candeias is expected to start. The Portuguese is a fantastic crosser of the ball and he’ll look to keep the Hamilton defenders on their toes with his clever movement.

Kyle Lafferty (ST)

Lafferty’s towering frame and aerial ability will make him a handful for the Hamilton defenders to cope with.
