Predicted Aston Villa line-up to face QPR in the Championship

Aston Villa would be eager to get back to winning ways when they face Queens Park Rangers in a Friday night game at Loftus Road. Dean Smith’s men suffered a 2-1 defeat at Norwich City on Tuesday.

They now face a QPR side who are in good form at the moment. QPR have won three of their last four games in the league, drawing the other, hence, it won’t be easy for Villa at Loftus Road. They have to be at their very best to get something out of this game.

Team News

Harry McKirdy is out for few weeks and Keinan Davis is back in training. Other than that, the manager has a wide enough squad to pick his lineup from. Albert Adomah is out for this game after an injury he picked up against Norwich.

Probable Aston Villa XI

Formation: 4-4-1-1

Manager: Dean Smith

Orjan Nyland (GK)

The Norwegian has been suspect in goal this season, epitomised by the way he conceded the first goal against Norwich. He must improve and be consistent between the sticks.

Ahmed Elmohamady

Ahmed Elmohamady (RB)

Starting Alan Hutton for three games in the space of seven days would be a risk considering his age. Hence, we may see Elmohamady dropping to right-back.

James Chester (CB)

Chester is an important figure at the back for Villa. He struggled a bit to contain the Norwich forwards, however, his command has been unerring this season.

Axel Tuanzebe (CB)

He is slowly oozing confidence in central defence alongside Chester. The loanee from Manchester United is now showing his quality.

Neil Taylor (LB)

The Welshman is expected to keep his place in the team even after a rather tame performance against Norwich. Dean Smith would be hoping for better.

John McGinn

John McGinn (CM)

The youngster was suspended for the previous game and should be straight back into the line-up. He is a key player in the midfield.

Glenn Whelan (CM)

The experienced head of Whelan would be a necessity for Villa in a tough away game at QPR.

Yannick Bolasie (RW)

The Congolese was left out of action against Norwich but he should be back for this game.

Jack Grealish

Jack Grealish (CAM)

Grealish’s form has seen a dip in the last few weeks. He needs to produce more in order to get his team up the table.

Jonathan Kodjia (LW)

With Albert Adomah expected to be out for this game due to an injury, Kodjia could start on the left wing.

Tammy Abraham (ST)

Abraham has led the line well since his arrival at the club. He was unlucky not to score against Norwich.
