Predicted Burnley line-up to face Brighton in the Premier League

Burnley were beaten 3-1 by Liverpool at Turf Moor after taking the lead through Jack Cork in the second half. Sean Dyche’s men were unable to hold onto their one-goal lead as the Reds fired back to win the game.

The manager will now turn his attention to this weekend’s clash against Brighton and Hove Albion. The Seagulls have been impressive under Chris Hughton this season and will definitely pose another tough test for the Clarets. Burnley are still in the relegation zone and are in dire need of some points.

Team News

Stephen Ward and Nick Pope are the only long-term absentees and are unavailable for this game. Steven Defour is also out injured and will not be ready to play against the Seagulls.

Probably Burnley XI

Manager: Sean Dyche

Formation: 4-4-2

Joe Hart (GK)

Did well to keep out a number of efforts against Liverpool. He will surely keep his place given no keeper has made more saves than Joe Hart this season.

Matthew Lowton (RB)

Dropped to the bench against Liverpool but should return for this clash at right-back.

James Tarkowski (CB)

His return is good for Burnley but the English defender needs to be more aware at the back.

Ben Mee (CB)

Mee made a number of important tackles against Liverpool but it was all in vain. He will continue at the back once again.

Charlie Taylor (LB)

Taylor needs to show more threat going forward. His offensive output has been very poor.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson

Johann Gudmundsson (RM)

The Iceland international’s set-pieces and deliveries have always been vital for the Clarets. He will surely start this game.

Ashley Westwood (RCM)

Westwood will continue in central midfield to dictate the play and break up the passes.

Jack Cork (LCM)

Cork scored the goal against Liverpool and that should see him keep his place alongside Westwood for this one.

Robbie Brady (LM)

Didn’t have the best of performances against Liverpool. He will continue down the left-hand side.

Jack Cork

Sam Vokes (ST)

Vokes should take the place of Ashley Barnes in this game. The striker has been in good scoring form over the last few weeks.

Chris Wood (ST)

Needs to be more tenacious and should show more venom going forward. Wood will continue to lead the line for the Clarets in this game.
