Predicted Crystal Palace line-up to face Burnley in the Premier League

Crystal Palace welcome Burnley to Selhurst Park on Saturday, hoping to win their first home game of the the Premier League season.

The Eagles bagged a hard-earned point against Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend which will give them a lot of confidence.

Roy Hodgson will now hope Crystal Palace break their winless run against a struggling Burnley side that lost at home to Newcastle United earlier this week.

Team News

Connor Wickham and Christian Benteke remain sidelined with thigh and knee problems respectively. Scott Dann is continuing his recovery from ligament damage and remains out.

Probable Crystal Palace XI

Formation: 4-4-2

Manager: Roy Hodgson

Wayne Hennessey (GK)

An assured presence between the sticks, Hennessey’s place in the team is not in danger at the moment.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB)

Wan-Bissaka has been excellent for Palace and the way he kept United’s Martial in check last weekend will give him a lot of confidence.

James Tomkins (CB)

Strong in the air and powerful in the tackle, Tomkins will look to keep things tight at the back against Burnley.

Mamadou Sakho (CB)

Sakho will have his task cut out against Burnley’s physical forwards on Saturday. He has to be at the top of his game to keep them out.

Patrick van Aanholt (LB)

Van Aanholt is a pacy, attacking left-back who loves to surge forward and contribute as much as he can to the Palace attacks.

Luka Milivojevic

Luka Milivojevic (CM)

Milivojevic brings calmness to the midfield. A good passer of the ball, he screens the back four and gives the flair players a base to express themselves freely.

Cheikhou Kouyate (CM)

Adds a lot of physicality and energy to the midfield. He’s an expert in doing the dirty work which Hodgson expects from him.

James McArthur (RM)

Not the most technically gifted player but his energy and industry are simply fantastic. A certain starter against Burnley.

Max Meyer (LM)

He is still finding his feet in the Premier League. He is a classy operator of the ball, a player who can pick out a pass and also do the defensive job diligently.

Wilfried Zaha

Wilfried Zaha (LS)

Palace’s talismanic forward, Zaha would look to give the Burnley defenders a run for their money at the weekend.

Andros Townsend (RS)

A tireless worker off the ball, Townsend will look to link up well with Zaha and cause endless problems to the Burnley backline.
