Newcastle extended their unbeaten run to three games after a comfortable 2-0 victory against Burnley. Goals from Fabian Schar and Sean Longstaff pushed Newcastle to 13th place ahead of Crystal Palace. Rafa Benitez’s side take on West Ham in a difficult game at the Olympic Stadium.

Goalkeeper Rob Elliot is ruled out after a back surgery and Ciaran Clark is also unavailable for the game against West Ham. Jonjo Shelvey is close to a return to the first-team but is unlikely to be available for the weekend.

Fabian Schar (CB)

The 27-year-old scored a brilliant goal in the midweek against Burnley and has been solid for the Magpies. He should start again on the right-hand side of the back three.

Jamaal Lascelles (CB)

The skipper has missed just four games in the league this season and is one of the first names on the team sheet for the club. He is set to start in the heart of the defence against West Ham on Saturday.

Florian Lejeune (CB)

The Frenchman has started the last 7 games for the club and is expected to continue there on Saturday.

Matt Ritchie (LB)

The winger turned full-back has played out of position due to an injury to Paul Dummett. Despite the return of Dummett to the squad on Tuesday, Ritchie is expected to continue at left-back.

Sean Longstaff (CM)

The 21-year-old has started each of the last 7 games and has become a fan favourite. Longstaff doubled Newcastle’s lead against Burnley in the mid-week and is set to start in central midfield on Saturday.

Issac Hayden (CM)

The game against Burnley was Hayden’s 10th start in a row for the Magpies and has been impressive this season. He should start next to Longstaff against West Ham on Saturday.

Miguel Almiron (LW)

Newcastle’s record signing has been outstanding in his first two games for the club and has been a massive threat on the left wing. His electric pace and control of the ball will be key for Newcastle if they are to get a result against the Hammers.
