[Image] Strongest 3-5-2 Swansea City XI to face Sheffield United in the EFL Championship

Predicted Swansea City line-up to face Sheffield United in the EFL Championship

Swansea City start their Championship campaign with a visit to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United on Saturday.

Graham Potter is set to take charge of his first competitive game in the Championship as his Swansea side look to recover from the disappointment of relegation last season.

The Welsh outfit looks a tad weaker due to high-profile departures earlier this summer following their relegation. Keeping that in mind, it will be a tough ask for Graham Potter to steer his side to a positive result against the Blades.

Team News

New signings Bersant Celina and Barrie McKay could be thrown straight into action on Saturday, while Mike van der Hoorn is expected to shake off a small groin problem. Martin Olsson is in contention too, after returning from World Cup duty.

Leroy Fer and Wilfried Bony are recovering from injuries and Kyle Naughton is a big doubt for the game.

Probable Swansea XI

Formation: 3-5-2

Manager: Graham Potter

Kristoffer Nordfeldt (GK)

Nordfeldt is likely to start between the sticks against Sheffield United at the weekend.

Mike van der Hoorn (RCB)

Van der Hoorn is expected to recover in time for the game and find himself a part of the three-man defence.

Jordi Amat (CB)

Amat spent last season on loan at Real Betis. However, he has returned to Swansea and could start the game on Saturday.

Federico Fernandez (LCB)

The leader of the team, Fernandez is a defender who is aerially very strong and doesn’t easily bullied.

Martin Olsson (LWB)

Starting in the left wing-back role should be Olsson, who can provide the team width and an attacking outlet from the left.

Tom Carroll left Tottenham to join Swansea.
Tom Carroll

Wayne Routledge (RWB)

Now entering his eighth season with the Swans, Routledge has plenty of experience and should be handed an unusual role at right wing-back.

Jay Fulton (RCM)

With Leroy Fer set to miss the start of the season, Fulton could have a long run in the first-team but he must take his chances with both hands.

Tom Carroll (CDM)

Partnering Fulton in central midfield would be Carroll, who was disappointing in the pre-season. Carroll needs to produce more when it comes to creativity and scoring goals.

Bersant Celina (LCM)

Celina is a playmaker who can split open defences with his creativity and flair.

Luciano Narsingh (SS)

Narsingh is a speedy forward who can torment the best of defences in the Championship with his explosive pace and trickery.
