Predicted Rangers line-up to face St. Mirren in the Scottish Premiership
After the first leg of Europa League’s third qualifying round against Maribor on Thursday, Rangers will host St. Mirren on Sunday.
Rangers had to settle for a point against Aberdeen last weekend, with Alfredo Morelos shown a red card early in the game. James Tavernier’s spot-kick was cancelled out by Aberdeen’s debutant Bruce Anderson in the stoppage time, leaving Steve Gerrard and co. frustrated after the full-time whistle.
However, Steven Gerrard will aim for all three points on Sunday when his team takes on St. Mirren at the Ibrox.
Team News
Ryan Jack has been ruled out of the game against Maribor as he suffered a concussion after being knocked out at Pittodrie on Sunday by a thumping challenge from Aberdeen striker Stevie May. Jack may even miss the St. Mirren clash as a precaution.
Gerrard has no fresh injury concerns, with the likes of Declan John, Lee Wallace, Jordan Rossiter and Graham Dorrans all sidelined.
Meanwhile, Rangers have been successful with their appeal against the red card shown to Alfredo Morelos and the Colombian striker will now be available for Sunday’s game.

Allan McGregor (GK)
Allan McGregor is expected to start in goal at the weekend against St. Mirren.
James Tavernier (RB)
Tavernier’s form and commitment to the cause at Ibrox saw new Rangers manager Steven Gerrard hand him the captain’s armband for the 2018/19 campaign and he has continued to repay his faith to the manager.
Nikola Katic (CB)
Katic has been excellent ever since he joined Rangers. A strong and robust defender with a very good technique on the ball, the Croat is expected to start on Sunday.
Connor Goldson (CB)
Goldson is possibly the most gifted defender in the Rangers squad and will need to be at his best to keep the St. Mirren attackers at bay.
Jon Flanagan (LB)
Jon Flanagan has performed well at left-back during the early stages of the season, but appears to be slightly less confident.
Ross McCrorie (CM)
McCrorie should start in this position if Gerrard chooses to not risk Ryan Jack. McCrorie could learn a lot from Steven Gerrard this season.
Lassana Coulibaly (CM)
Coulibaly is a selfless midfielder who goes about doing his business quietly and allows his more creative teammates to shine.
Scott Arfield (RM)
Having played in the Premier League, Arfield has shown no problems in settling down at Ibrox.
Jamie Murphy (LM)
Murphy may not have been the most consistent player since joining Rangers on a permanent basis but his natural ability and creativity add so much to Rangers’ attack.
Alfredo Morelos (LS)
Now that the red card at Aberdeen has been overturned, Morelos has an added pressure on his shoulders as he is given the task of leading Rangers’ attack.
