Inter To Snatch Arsenal Captain In January And Lewandowski Rumors

A round-up of all the latest transfer rumours across the Emirates

Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen could head to Italy in January as Inter Milan are rumoured to be interested for the out of favour Belgian International. Having played just 10 minutes in the Premier League this season, Vermaelen’s chnaces of making it to the National squad are falling thin. With his center-half collegues Jan Vertonghen and Vincent Kompany in a good chance of making it to the starting berth, Vermaelen’s time in Arsenal bench will mean that he will likely miss out on the Samba show down next year.

The Mirror reports that, after suggesting last month that he might have to leave Arsenal to in order to play for Belgium at the World Cup, Inter Milan are lining up a bid.

The Serie A side are cash-rich after being taken over by Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir; and Vermaelen is among their top targets. It’s thought that they will test Arsenal’s resolve with an £8million bid, but could even go to £10million to try and get the deal done.

Mean while Arsenal manger Arsene Wenger has asked his skipper to remain patient ‘He is rightly frustrated because he has the quality to play, because he behaves with a fantastic attitude and is a credit to our job. I can understand completely his frustration.’

Lewandowski

In other news, Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski might be available for a cut price deal. Dortmund who are reluctant to see their star striker join their rivals are offering him for just £7m so that he doesn’t walk off freely to join Bayern in the summer.

Premier League’s big guns Arsenal, Chelsea, City and United are all rumoured to be interested in the striker. Chelsea who are interested in landing Wayne Rooney could be tempted to move for the Polish striker if Rooney extends in current contract with United, while Arsenal who are in the hunt for another striker could also monitor Lewandowski as their prime target Luis Suarez has been running riot with Liverpool this season.
