Arsenal fullback Carl Jenkinson is now confused whether to select England or Finland for his international future. Ex-Charlton player is showing good form this season and probably the most improved player from the last season in the whole premier league. Now he is even tipped for a England call-up for their world cup qualifiers against San Marino and Poland.
But the player believes that this is not the right time to make the decision. He said,
“I’m just concentrating on Arsenal, that’s my bread and butter, I’m just focused on the here and now and the next game against Olympiacos.”
“Finland have contacted me. I told them, ‘I’m focusing only on Arsenal now’ so that’s all there is to it. You can read into that how you want.”
“I have to make a decision at some point. As I’ve said many times, I will cross that bridge when I come to it. Until then I’m just concentrating on each game as it comes.”
Jenkinson also revealed how playing regularly for the main squad helped him to develop as a player,
“I am really enjoying my football and I think that’s the secret, confidence played a big part too. I’m feeling good at the moment and hopefully I’ll just keep building on my game and my confidence will grow with it.”
“I feel comfortable at this level (EPL) now. I just want to push on and hopefully keep going as I’m going.”
“It has been a roller-coaster year. I’ve realized that in football there are always ups and downs and it’s about trying to keep a level head and fight till the end.”
