Jermain Defoe can pacify Alfredo Morales at Rangers says Mark Warburton

Former Nottingham Forest Manager believes Jermain Defoe can take care of Alfredo Morelos

Speaking to the Daily Record, Mark Warburton believes that Defoe can change the aggressive nature of his Rangers teammate Morelos.

Alfredo Morelos

The Colombian striker was sent off in their match against Aberdeen despite scoring two goals. It was, in fact, his fourth dismissal this season. In the wake of the red card, Warburton has weighed in on the Forward’s mentality.

“Morelos just looks angry all of the time on the pitch.

“You’re watching and thinking it would be nice to see him enjoying his football a bit more but you don’t know his background.

“I just see real talent and someone like Defoe will be a great mentor for him, someone who has played at the highest level can be good for him,” he added (h/t Daily Record).

He further claimed that Morelos would easily find his place at some of the big clubs in future.

Like Warburton, Steven Gerrard, the Rangers manager has also expressed his thoughts on the youngster’s on-field nature.

Rangers are currently second in the Scottish Premiership table behind Celtic, and Alfredo Morales is the top scorer with 15 goals in the Premiership. Jermain Defoe, the former English international has scored three goals this season.
