Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has indicated that the club is unlikely to bring in defender Victor Lindelof or any other player in January. His Red Devil’s side currently sits sixth in the Premier League and is yet to make a signing this month but a number of stars – including Morgan Schneiderlin, who has already signed with Everton and Memphis Depay – are expected to leave Old Trafford in this month.

“I am convinced that in this winter market we will be sellers and not buyers,” Mourinho said. “Let’s build pounds to attack the market next summer as we did this. We hired four players from the first level and we knew they could help.” added the Portuguese.

The Red Devils brought in Zlatan Ibrahimovic for free but spent over £150million to add Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Eric Bailly and Paul Pogba to their ranks before the start of the season.

However, On Wednesday, sources at the club mentioned they had agreed to sell Morgan Schneiderlin to Everton for £22 million, which means they are close to recouping the £24m paid to Southampton for the midfielder last summer.

Jose Mourinho’s side take on arch rivals Liverpool on Sunday at Old Trafford, knowing that a win would take them within two points of Jurgen Klopp’s Reds. Manchester United have been in good form recently having won eight matches in a row.
