Klopp to make 1 big change – Strongest 4-3-3 Liverpool lineup to face Real Madrid in Champions League Final

An eventful 2017-18 season is finally set to have its conclusion on Saturday night when Liverpool lock horns with Real Madrid in the season’s biggest encounter.

Los Blancos, the reigning champions, are on a mission of achieving their 3rd consecutive Champions League glory whereas the Reds’ incredible run has made them progress to their first final in 11 years. Jurgen Klopp’s juggernaut will remain the underdogs, however, their miraculous comeback in 2005 versus AC Milan must inspire them to grab their 6th European honour.

Team News

Liverpool will be without their defensive duo Joe Gomez and Joel Matip, who has been ruled out for months with ankle and thigh strains respectively. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s stupendous campaign was interrupted by a season-ending knee injury which ruled him out from the upcoming World Cup competition.

Emre Can, however, is back in training and in contention to make it to the matchday squad for one last time before leaving for Juventus.

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Loris Karius (GK)

The German custodian has replaced Simon Mignolet between the sticks and has earned reliability as club’s new No.1.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

The 19-year-old teenage sensation has made it to England’s World Cup squad due to his stunning upsurge. He should be focused on the final encounter where he might have to battle it out against the iconic Cristiano Ronaldo down the wing.

Dejan Lovren (RCB)

Has made some costly errors at times but should be pumped up for the Real Madrid clash as he has to maintain a defensive resilience against the champions’ relentless attacks.

Virgil van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk (LCB)

The winter recruit from Southampton has been a massive influence on the Liverpool defence and must deliver his absolute best on Saturday night against their fierce opponents.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

Has been a revelation since replacing Alberto Moreno and the Scotsman must continue the same to make it to Liverpool’s folklore.

Jordan Henderson (CDM)

The skipper has been pretty vocal and led the Reds by example throughout the competition. He needs to keep up his good work and break down Real’s lethal midfield moves from his No.6 role.

Jordan Henderson

Georginio Wijnaldum (RCM)

The Dutchman will have a massive test where he must keep winning the midfield battle against the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro, who form the world’s strongest midfield and hold the experience of top order in this prestigious competition.

James Milner (LCM)

The veteran Englishman has earned credits for his hard work and contribution all over the pitch. Saturday’s contest will be the biggest night of his career and the midfielder must continue his majestic form to make it his greatest night as well.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

The red-hot Egyptian will be the focal point of a pumped up Liverpool team. Salah has netted 44 goals so far in all competitions in his debut campaign for the Merseysiders and must extend the tally to have a fitting end to his extraordinary season.

Roberto Firmino

Sadio Mane (RW)

The Senegalese sensation has uplifted his game with time and his majestic form in the competition should be a massive boost for the Reds.

The Brazilian has received massive acknowledgement for his tireless work ethics. He has redefined the No.9 role and is now the first name on the teamsheet in Klopp’s high-pressing football.
