Klopp To Make 4 Changes – Strongest 4-3-3 Liverpool lineup to face Watford

Predicted Liverpool Lineup To Face Watford In The Premier League

Liverpool’s impressive unbeaten run and hope for the runners-up spot hit a massive setback last weekend when they suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford and slipped to 4th spot in the Premier League table. The Reds, however, have an opportunity to turn their fortunes around when they host Watford at Anfield on Saturday evening. It’s a chance reach one step closer to ensuring a Champions League berth for the upcoming campaign.

Team News

Liverpool do not have significant injury concerns but right-back Nathaniel Clyne will be the only absentee for the weekend outing as he, despite being back in full training, lacks match fitness. He is unlikely to be risked ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold or Joe Gomez.

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Formation: 4-3-3

Jurgen Klopp has not experimented much with team formation and has fielded his men in a 4-3-3 set up with the lethal front trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane. He is likely to retain the same against the Hornets.

Loris Karius (GK)

Although he conceded twice against Manchester United, the young German custodian has done a decent job between the sticks of late and has permanently replaced Simon Mignolet in goal. The player, however, needs to perform consistently to hold on to his place.

Joe Gomez

Joe Gomez (RB)

A series of impressive outings handed the young Alexander-Arnold a place against Manchester United at Old Trafford. But the teenager had a nightmarish outing as he was bullied by Marcus Rashford time and again. The disappointing afternoon might result in a replacement in the right-back slot and Klopp might restore Joe Gomez, who has shown defensive maturity on most of the occasions.

Joel Matip (CB)

A dismal performance from Dejan Lovren could see him be replaced by Joel Matip in the heart of Liverpool defence on Saturday evening.

Virgil Van Dijk (CB)

The Dutchman has settled well in the Liverpool defence and will continue to feature there in order to bring back stability as well as rigidity in the Reds’ backline.

Andrew Robertson

Andrew Robertson (LB)

The former Hull City fullback has replaced Alberto Moreno permanently down the left-hand flank and will once again feature in the starting lineup against the Hornets.

Jordan Henderson (CDM)

Klopp’s decision to drop the skipper did not work out against the Red Devils and the German gaffer is likely to bring him back to the starting lineup here.

Georginio Wijnaldum (RCM)

The Dutchman has missed a few games due to illness but is now fit again and ready to return to the matchday squad ahead of the weekend outing.

Emre Can (LCM)

The German international is respecting his contract and is providing his best efforts in the middle of the park. He is expected to retain his place in the starting XI and feature against Javi Gracia’s men at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah (RW)

The Egyptian sensation, currently the joint top-scorer of the league, had a rare quiet afternoon against the Red Devils. He, however, will be determined to come back to his best and continue to score goals in order to acquire the Premier League Golden Boot Award at the end of the campaign.

Sadio Mane (LW)

Although he scored a hat-trick against Porto in the Champions League, Mane has not been at his best this season. Yet, he is creating chances and is linking up well at times to open up space.

Roberto Firmino (ST)

The main man in Klopp’s ‘gegenpressing’ strategy had a disappointing outing against the Red Devils. He, too, will be determined to bounce back and deliver one sublime performance against Watford on Saturday evening.
