Leeds signing this promising Brighton starlet would be a great step towards a bright future under Bielsa

Leeds United opinion: Should the Whites sign Ben White?

According to a report in Leeds liveLeeds United are looking to sign Brighton youngster Ben White. The 21-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at League One side Peterborough United.

After impressing during his short stint there, he has caught the eye of the Leeds hierarchy and they’re trying to capture the young prospect as a part of yet another push for Premier League football.

During his stint, it was clear that the youngster is very hard-working, determined and has the dogged mentality to do well for himself. The 21-year-old is also quite versatile and can play at right-back and centre-back without much trouble.

There is still areas where he can improve in his game and that will come with time. There aren’t many people better to learn from than the likes of Marcelo Bielsa.

Bielsa is known to develop young players and his influence on the game of football goes beyond just the team’s he has managed, serving as a mentor to the likes of Mauricio Pochetinno and Pep Guardiola.

Brighton, on the other hand, don’t require the services of White at this moment in time as they will be looking to deal with the tough test of surviving the English Premier League after barely making it through this season, eventually finishing in 17th place.

It will be a tough task for new boss Graham Potter to let the youngster develop with some larger goals to be achieved at this moment in time. Leeds, on the other hand, will be looking to strengthen the team and make sure that they don’t repeat the mistakes from the 2018/19 season.
