Leeds United Opinion: Why the Whites should go for Ebere Eze
According to the BBC, Girona have completed the signing of midfielder Samu Saiz from Leeds United. Saiz, 28, joined Leeds United in 2017 and made 58 appearances in the Championship, netting ten goals.
He started last season under Marcelo Bielsa as a playmaker but then slipped from the first-team picture rapidly and went on loan to Getafe in January. And now the midfielder has left the club for Girona for an undisclosed fee.
Leeds United have made a couple of signings in the summer transfer window but they are still some way short of completing their squad ahead of the new campaign.
There is still plenty of time for deals to be done and it is expected there will be plenty of business conducted in the remaining weeks.
Marcelo Bielsa, however, needs to push the board to complete the transfer dealings as quickly as possible so that the new players can be a part of the pre-season.
The Peacocks sold Jack Clarke to Tottenham but they have done well to retain his services on loan for the upcoming season.
Likewise, the addition of Helder Costa and Jack Harrison would certainly add depth and quality to the side. But as Saiz was such an asset when he was at his best at Elland Road, it’s vital for Bielsa to sign a replacement for the diminutive Spaniard this summer.
Back in March, Leeds were interested in QPR starlet Eberechi Eze and were planning to sign him this summer. The links have gone cold in recent months but the time is ripe for the Whites to rekindle their interest in Eze and sign him up this summer.
Eberechi Eze is arguably one of the most promising attacking midfielders in English football, bagging four goals and as many assists in 42 games last season.
He is a versatile player who can play in different positions across the front-line, something that will certainly attract Bielsa. The 21-year-old has a good pace to burn and can run at defenders without any fear, making him a perfect fit for Bielsa’s system at Leeds.

Eze is extremely skilful, difficult to contain for the opposition on his day. He can make a bad pass or keep control of possession at times in a game but his tenacity and willingness to win back possession is something that stands out. Without a shadow of a doubt, he is a player who has the potential to get better and better.
The 21-year-old is a highly rated young talent and Bielsa must unlock his potential to get the best out of him. Leeds could strike a masterstroke deal here if they move quickly and secure Eze’s signature from QPR.
