The Whites’ promotion hopes took an abrupt turn, as they suffered back-to-back defeats at a crucial stage in the Championship.

Their automatic promotion hopes look bleak, with Sheffield United being three points ahead of him in the second position.

Now, the former shot-stopper Lukic believes Marcelo Bielsa will help the Whites end up in England’s top flight next season.

But I still believe they can go up. He has experience as a manager and, in my opinion, it’s more adrenaline than tiredness which is affecting the players.

“The Premier League is certainly a better league with Leeds in it, in my view. But it is hard to see them catching Sheffield United now with the games the teams have got left.

The Argentine manager joined the Elland Road club last year, to everyone’s surprise.

Being the mentor of Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino, the 63-year-old has loads of experience in his bag.

Marcelo Bielsa

The Whites’ pressure doubled up after the shocking Brentford defeat.

LUFC have looked a more competitive and reinvigorated side since the arrival of Bielsa to the Championship.

They started off the campaign strongly, as they topped the table for months to follow.

They suffered a dip in form earlier this year, eventually losing their top spot to Norwich City.

Somehow, the Elland club restored their form with a string of victories, despite some difficult fixtures in February.
