Leeds United News: Leeds United keeps Daniel James interest alive

Leeds United News: According to the Mirror (h/t Bristol Live), Leeds United have confirmed their interest in Daniel James of Swansea.

Earlier this month, the Swansea winger was slated to join the Whites but the move was ruined by the Swans management. James, who had passed his medical, was waiting for confirmation before the Swans decided to snub the deal on the final day of the transfer window.

Now the Chief Executive of Leeds, Angus Kinnear, has revealed that the Welsh winger still remains on club’s radar:

He said (h/t Bristol Live)

“He was a player who has now returned to Swansea but in the process was very excited by the prospect of joining Leeds United.

“Once you’ve invested so much time in identifying the right player, it’s not something you give up on easily.”

He further added the incident was completely a result of internal politics.

James in great touch this season

The Welsh winger has scored two goals and provided three assists this season so far and been one of the key players for Graham Potter. In the game against Brentford last night, James produced another top performance which led the team to a 4-1 win.

James can play either as a winger or an attacking midfielder. He would be a perfect fit for the Marcelo Bielsa’s side to strengthen their attack.

The Whites, who were off to an awful start this season, have started to pick up the pace with an important draw against Middlesbrough followed by the win over Graham Potter’s side.

They are due to face Bolton and Queens Park Rangers in their upcoming games. Marcelo Bielsa’s side is currently third in the Championship table.
