Leeds United News: Leeds United plot a surprise move for Yannick Bolasie

Leeds United News: Leeds United are plotting a transfer move for Everton bound Yannick Bolasie, reports Team Talk.

Yannick Bolasie

The 29-year-old is currently on loan at Belgium club Anderlecht.

Player stats

Bolasie had a largely inconsistent career before finding his feet at Premier League club Crystal Palace.

He has made more than 100 appearances for the Eagles over the course of four years.

The Toffees acquired the winger for £25 million in 2016. After spending a lay off for around a year owing to Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury, he was loaned to Aston Villa and Anderlecht in subsequent seasons.

The DR Congo international has had a sparkling impact in Belgium as he bagged four goals and an assist in eight appearances this season.

Bolasie, a Frenchman by birth, has represented DR Congo over 30 times and has scored nine goals.

How will he thrive under Marcelo Bielsa?

Marcelo Bielsa is currently in pole position to secure a place in the Premier League next season. And as a result, he has drawn some names in his wish list and undoubtedly Bolasie has been the surprise entry so far.

Despite having a wealth of experience, having played for 9 English clubs, the winger has been an underachiever. This is compounded by his injury record.

Moreover, Bielsa’s preferred formation this season is a 4-1-4-1 and Bolasie’s first opportunities might be limited if Bielsa were to continue playing such a formation.

Simultaneously, it is no easy task to displace the likes of Jack Clarke and Pablo Hernandez who have been in fine form for the Whites.

The club rounded off a dramatic win against Millwall on Saturday and the victory has allowed them to move up to second in the Championship table.
