Let Them Go Silva – 2 Players Who Should Leave Watford This January Including This Former Club-record Signing

Two Players Who Should Exit Watford In January

Watford have turned out to be one of the biggest surprise packages of the Premier League this season. Marco Silva’s raw dynamism and energy have proven to be quite incredible at the club and the Hornets need him around if they are to truly make a mark this season. They will need to build on the promising start they have made so far and the January window will be extremely crucial for that as they’d have the chance to bring in reinforcements.

However, with that, they will also need to let some players leave. Silva has done well at Watford and the club currently sit 9th in the Premier League table. But if they are to continue their impressive performances, they will need to free up some wage bills to invest that money in other aspects.

The club will look to make room for new recruits, while also ensuring their finances are in order, which will prompt them to offload some players in January. Hence, let’s take a look at two players who could leave in order to make room for new recruits.

Isaac Success

Isaac Success

Success was Watford’s record signing back in August 2016. He joined the Hornets from Granada but he has failed to make an impact ever since. His game time has been limited and he has only made two starts, with a further 15 appearances coming from the bench. Moreover, his personal life has been quite murky and has been marred by controversies, which may have affected his performances on the field.

The Nigerian international scored his only goal for Watford during a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth but that is pretty much it. Hence, it could benefit the player as well as the club if he were to move out in January and perhaps a new environment is what he needs in order to get back on track.

Ben Watson

It has been a tough time for Watson at the club. He was the hero from Wigan’s FA Cup win back in 2013 but with the Hornets, Watson failed to make an impact under Mazzarri as well as under Marco Silva.

A combination of injuries and personal reasons have kept Watson out of contention for major parts of his time at the club. Even when he was available, Mazzarri rarely selected him. About a year ago, Watson was crucial for Watford but now, he seems to have fallen really low down the pecking and there seems to be no way for him to get back up. Hence, a January exit seems likely.
