Why This Liverpool And English International Would Be A Great Hit At Tottenham Hotspur

The season has ended for Tottenham and well they couldn’t win the title, but they are preparing for next season and if rumors are to be believed, the London club are weighing a move for Liverpool’s Adam Lallana.

The 28-year-old star hasn’t been the best of players for the Reds this season or even last when he signed from Southampton, but the attacker has shown in certain games that he can show the same spark that made him one of the best players in the Premier League during his debut season with the Saints in the top flight.

Lallana has actually done better than the first season at Liverpool with seven goals compared to just six and that too, having to deal with a new manager with new ideas. Jurgen Klopp though, seems to have found a balance in the side and truth be told, Lallana does not have a place in the starting XI for the German.

The English star might run a lot, but he isn’t someone who can play out on the wings. What he does do well is, play behind the striker but that position is taken up by Roberto Firmino or Philippe Coutinho at Liverpool. The two Brazilians are better than Lallana at the moment and Klopp could be tempted to sell the English star for the 20-million-pound deal that is being offered by Mauricio Pochettino.

A new start for Lallana

Pochettino did coach Lallana during the 2013-14 season and he knows just what the Southampton star can do for a side. His Tottenham side did lack the cutting edge in certain games and having someone who can run with the ball and set up the main striker, Harry Kane would be great for the side.

Lallana did enjoy his best Premier League season under Pochettino and the two could link up for more fireworks. The movement that Lallana has is one of the best in the league and he is full of relentless running, something that the Tottenham side is known for.

The former Southampton star also has one of the best first touches in the England set up as well and that silky smooth touch could give Tottenham a lot of quality next season in the attacking department. With the likes of Son Heung-min and Clinton N’Jie not lighting up the goal scoring or assist charts, the onus on doing well could fall on Lallana.

Tottenham don’t have someone to step up if a few of their starters get injured but Pochettino could be looking to give Lallana a starting place also, if the English star replicates his performances under the Argentine during their time in the South Coast.

This could be a win-win deal for all, Tottenham get a pretty good star who could blossom under Pochettino while Liverpool get a decent amount for a player that hasn’t been exceptional for them.
