Liverpool Opinion: A Mass Exodus Is On The Cards?

published :

Liverpool’s season never really kicked off, apart from a brilliant couple of months during 2015, they never really have been able to show just how good they were when compared to last season. The loss of the talisman Luis Suarez and the rejigging of the squad did not really help the squad plus it took almost half the season before Rodgers got it right with his 3-4-3 system that Liverpool deploys now.

Sadly, there are a lot of players who could be leaving the club as they consider rebuilding the squad and we look at just which players could be on their way out from Liverpool.

Transfer out

Iago Aspas

He does have his name etched in Liverpool history, especially thanks to that horrendous corner against Chelsea where the scored the 2nd goal to defeat Liverpool. Aspas has been doing alright at Sevilla this season and probably will not be returning to Liverpool at the end of the season.

Luis Alberto

Was expected to do big things but the former Barcelona player was just not able to make it at Liverpool and will probably be sold off at the end of the season, he did have a lot of talent but he never really got a chance to showcase it at the club and will be looking at a career back in Spain now.

Glen Johnson

Glen Johnson has been on the nerves of most Liverpool fans for quite a few seasons, there is no doubting his ability, his ability to forget how to defend. They already have youngsters like Jon Flannagan and Andre Wisdom chomping at the bits to replace the English defender and with news coming in that he might not be at Anfield next season, at least some Liverpool fans will breathe easy.

Fabio Borini

Sadly, the last day drama by Borini has not paid off, Borini decided to stay and fight for his place at Liverpool but he has not been able to take advantage of the few chances he has been given and it is all but a surety that Borini is to be replaced at the end of the season.

Brad Jones

Jones is another player who would be leaving the club come the end of the season, he always was considered as an understudy to Mignolet and with the Belgian finding his feet and hands finally at the club, he should be looking at a new club.

Jose Enrique

The Spaniard has not played as many games as he would have liked and with Liverpool playing a new 3-4-3 formation, his options to break into the squad are also limited, especially with the likes of Ibe, Markovic and Lallana all being tried out in the wing back position. Enrique did provide a few years of brilliant service, but his time at the club is probably over at the club.

Rickie Lambert

Unfortunately for the lifelong Liverpool fan, his dream was not realized, sure he got to play for his boyhood club but he never really got a chance to play enough games and that has not only affected his playing time at the club but also any hopes of playing for the English national squad again.
