Liverpool Player Raings Against Rubin Kazan: Sakho, Can and Lallana Deliver for the Reds

Liverpool drew 1-1 to Russian side Rubin Kazan at home in the Europa League last night. How did the Reds perform? Here is the player ratings of all the Liverpool stars

Simon Mignolet: 7

He followed up his performance against Tottenham with an equally good show at the Anfield against Rubin Kazan. He couldn’t do much for the goal the Reds conceded.

Nathaniel Clyne: 6

At fault for Devic’s goal and failed to provide a good service in the final third consistently. He was getting in the right positions in attack, but couldn’t pull the trigger when required.

Martin Skrtel: 6

Martin Skrtel should be criticised for putting the Clyne under pressure by stepping out of defence, leaving the Ukrainian free to charge into the penalty area and score the goal. However, after that, Skrtel did grow into the game as his passing was assured and his defensive work kept Rubin quiet on the break.

Mamadou Sakho: 8

The Man of the Match. Mamadou Sakho once again stood out as Liverpool’s best player of the night. He was solid in defence and progressive in his use of the ball in possession.

Alberto Moreno: 7.5

Moreno made more interceptions (five) than any other player last night and supported attacks consistently, with his pinpoint crosses and provided Christian Benteke with some promising openings when the Belgian came in.

Emre Can: 7.5

Emre Can produced a stunning all-round display as Klopp’s box-to-box midfielder. The German pressed with intensity, supported attacks with strong driving runs and-and added the finishing touch with a sweeping effort to equalise on 37 minutes.

James Milner: 7

He covered more ground that anyone on the pitch and provided some useful balls from deep to prompt attacking moves from Clyne and Lallana.

Joe Allen: 3

He was substituted in he half-time by Jurgen Klopp and that sums up his performance against the Russian outfit.

Adam Lallana: 7.5

Lallana has produced two eye-catching performances in his first two outings under Klopp and is determined to impress his new manager. He was energetic, aggressive and constantly looked to play the right ball.

Philippe Coutinho: 4

The Brazilian looked completely off-colour and the Kops will expect him to bounce back soon. The Brazilian began well, tackling with tenacity and looking to spearhead attacking moves, but he started fading as the game went on.

Divock Origi: 5

He produced some great touches in the buildup play and gifted opportunities for Coutinho and Lallana, but he was unable to spearhead the attack with any conviction. He was later substituted for his countryman Benteke.

Substitutes:

Lucas Leiva: 6

Christian Benteke: 6

Roberto Firmino: 5
