Liverpool Player Ratings + Highlights Against Cardiff: SAS Show Once Again

Liverpool twice came from behind to yet again grab a convincing win this time against Cardiff City to continue their surge at the zenith of the Premier League table. Luis Suarez scored another hattrick while Martin Skrtel grabbed a brace of his own. Cardiff, with that defeat sink further below in the relegation battle and the frowns on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s forehead continue to create ripples. Here are the player ratings for Liverpool from Wales.

Simon Mingolet: Could have hardly done anything to save the three goals Cardiff scored as his defense let him down. The Belgian though was tentative coming out of his line to grab crosses from the flanks.

Glen Johnson: Defensively a poor performance but Johnson was at his rampaging best going forward, grabbing an assist for Suarez’s first goal.

Daniel Agger: Poor show from the Dane who was second best at all his individual battles and looked too shaky at the back.

Martin Skrtel: Grabbed a brace showing finishing skills of a seasoned striker. The Slovakian was an imposing threat from set pieces but was troubled defensively.

Jon Flanagan: Was solid in defense and put a commendable shift in at left back for his team.

Steven Gerrard: Although was not directly linked with any of the 6 goals that Liverpool scored, the England captain was a soothing influence at quarterback, eased into distribution with his blesses right foot. Earned a yellow at the beginning of the encounter.

Jordan Henderson: Once again was played his heart out in midfield and worked his socks off with great runs up front.

Joe Allen: Forgettable game for the Welsh midfielder who left too many spaces for his room mates. Did however play well in the second half.

Philippe Coutinho: The Brazilian provided two assists and played well till he was subbed off to replaced by Raheem Sterling. The Brazilian ran into spaces and continuously harassed the Cardiff back line. After a string of poor showings, Coutinho looked at his previous best last night.

Luis Suarez: With this the Uruguayan’s numbers stand at 28 goals, 11 assist. Yet other fantastic performance grabbing another hat-trick.

Daniel Sturridge: Scored a deserved goal and provided an out of the world assist for Suarez with a sumptuous back flick. Clearly deserved another goal for the performance he put it in.
