A report from Anfield claims that Liverpool have contacted Birmingham City on Sunday and inquired about the availability their goal keeper Jack Butland for a possible transfer.

Liverpool are scouting for a goalkeeper to replace Reina who is tipped to join Barcelona at the end of the season. Jack Butland will be a good future investment even if Reina stays with the Reds.

However, it looks like Liverpool will be forced into a bidding war with some of their premier league rivals for Butland’s signature. Chelsea and Everton are also monitoring the situation closely.

The 19-year-old goalkeeper impressed many pundits over the last 18 months with some match winning performances. Butland made his England debut back in August. Liverpool will make a £3m bid in next two days. Even if the deal gets completed, Jack Butland will mostly get loaned back to Birmingham for the remaining part of the season.
