LUFC News: Kemar Roofe sets to return for Birmingham clash

The Whites striker has been sidelined for months owing to a knee-ligament injury.

Now with the Championship reaching its final stages, Leeds will be delighted to have their goalscorer back in the squad.

Roofe was one of the pivotal players for Marcelo Bielsa in his quest for Premier League promotion. His numbers are excellent, leading the scoring charts for the Whites with 14 goals.

Post his injury, Patrick Bamford was deployed as the main striker, who has always stepped up in recent times.

Bamford was heavily criticized by the fans after his abject display against Millwall last week.

“Roofe is healthy. “He couldn’t play with the Under-23s because there was no game but he will be with the squad.”

The 26-year-old won the Championship player of the month in August when the team looked untouchable.

However, the Argentine manager’s first season at Elland Road took a turn for the worse later as his side slipped from first position earlier this year.

They also endured a difficult February and revived themselves more recently which has now got them back to second in the table.

They are trailing the table leaders Norwich City by five points and will be facing the Blues tomorrow at St. Andrews.
